Evolve 35 vs Traverse: worth the upgrade? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m looking for some opinions from those who may have owned or at least spent time setting up both. The Evolve 35 has been the best bow I’ve ever owned and the pros of that bow are well discussed in the forum already, but I have a few minor issues that still bug me. I’ve shot the Traverse with just a WB rest on multiple occasions, but there are some things that cannot be evaluated in that short test. Let me know if/how the following issues are/are not addressed with the Traverse (in no particular order):

1. Finish – the camo dipping on the PSE’s prior to Kolorfusion seem to flake off as soon as pressure is applied. I was spoiled with my Elite’s prior to this.

2. Grip pressure / Bareshaft tuning – this Evolve seems extremely sensitive to hand placement on the grip. A 1" nock right tear at 7 yards turns to 1" nock left just by positioning my hand about 1/16" further left on the grip.

3. Balance and shot stability with sight and rest. I’m having to run quite a bit of back bar weight to keep the bow from canting hard CW at the shot and therefore have to run more weight up front to keep it from tilting back on the shot. No big deal on a 3D course, but a 7+ pound hunting rig isn’t ideal.

4. Noise / vibration: no real feedback needed on this one since I was able to do a side by side comparison with a ~500gr arrow. I just wanted to note a major difference. My loaded Evolve 35 is noticeably louder and has significantly more vibration and feedback than the bare Traverse (with WB).

Also, please note any cons of the Traverse or where it might actually be worse than 1-3 above.

TIA for your time and input.

Sony Vixia HG40 Worth Keeping? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I had some reward points from a manufacturer at work that were getting ready to expire, and I had to spend them on something or I would have lost them. There wasn’t much on their online catalog that I thought I needed so I tried to get something with the highest cash value for the amount of points I had.

I ended up ordering the Canon G40. I have a decent Sony Handycam now that I carry with me to film some of my hunts. I would like to get better at it and thought this camera would do better. My question is, is it that much better than the Handycam or should I sell it and keep what I have?

Reviews look good online, but I didn’t really see any related to filming hunts.

Is the Garmin Xero worth $200 #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

There are over 1000 threads on this forum alone discussing a multi-pin sight vs. a single pin sight. It appears that the Garmin Xero could be the best of both worlds. However, it doesn’t come cheap.

The Garmin Xero is priced at $ 800+. A rangefinder is $ 150-$ 600 (average $ 300) and a Spot Hogg sight is $ 300, so we are actually talking about $ 200. The question becomes, “Is the new Garmin sight $ 200 better than everything else?”

I am waiting for real world reviews, but if it performs as expected, for me it will be a yes.

PS: I have no ties to Garmin, it just looks like a game changer……..

Vortex Viper worth it over Diamondback? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Basically what the title suggests, when you’re going to be glassing a lot is it worth it to bump to the viper quality in the vortex line or are the diamondbacks sufficient enough?

Is using a feeder worth it if you have to stop 10 days before the start of the season #archery

In Minnesota you have to have food removed 10 days before the start of the season. Is it even worth using a feeder if you have to do this?

Whats it worth Excalibur Matrix 355

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Ive been thinking about selling my Excalibur Matrix 355 and was wondering what a fair market value is on it. Its a 2013 model in new condition, not a scratch on it. I bought it as an extra and never used it. I dolled it up with some R.E.D.S., Realtree Xtra Cheek piece, extra string, Stringing Aid & all paperwork. It came with a scope and quiver and 4 arrows

I also have some arrows and arrow cutter and some other things I was thinking on throwing in with the bow to get the most back but may have to sell separately to get the items moved out.

But if anyone can tell me what they have been seeing them go for I would appreciate it. I know what I have into it and sort have an idea what I want to get out of it but I would like to know some type of range as well. Been looking online but cant seem to find much prices on them in my condition.
Let me hear your opinions and thoughts.
Thanks

Is Tradgang classifieds worth the fee they charge? Maybe off topic

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi,
I’ve been very active on AT and really enjoy the group here. But with limited places to troll for used traditional bows I use to really like tradgang classifieds. Now I see you can’t be involved in Tradgang ads without paying a $ 30 fee. They go on about need people to participate other than buying/trading/selling and scams on ads.So why punish everyone by Charging some high fee…look forward to your responses.
I for one enjoy trying buying and selling all sorts of archery stuff. If it flings an arrow/bolt I’m interested.:darkbeer:
