tips for moving a QAD HDX (non- microtune) very small amounts while tuning? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m broadhead tuning with fixed blades. I’m around 1 or 2" to the right at 40 yards. I really wish I’d gotten a microtune rest now. Back with mechanicals, it didn’t matter as much. It seems I always over correct. So what are some tips for bumping these things like 1/128" or so at a time? I’m thinking of using a silver sharpie and straight edge to draw a line that goes across the two moving sides so that my current setup is with the lines dead level. Then move from there. The silver sharpie should come off with some rubbing alcohol.

Guys I’ve been bare shaft tuning the last few weeks as I’ve never done it before!

So this is the issue I have a realm x that is in spec 59.5 lbs is where the weights at and I am holding spine 8.2 lbs. I am shooting a 29.5” maxima red standard shaft 350 with 100 grain field tip.

I get bullet holes all the way to 5-7 yards with both fletched and bare shaft.

Soon as I move to 20 yards I get bullet honest with fletched. However the bare shaft arrow is turning in flight roughly at 10-15 yards or so and hits the paper with about a 3.5” Click image for larger version.

However my fixed blade broad heads and my field tips hit at the same spot if I do my part out to 50 yards on fletched arrows. Which is far enough for me!

This is my question why is the arrow going sideways I’ve tried a few different bare shaft arrows same arrow brand and length with the exact same results.

I’ve had one bow where they flew exactly like the fletched arrow!

Just curious if anyone else has had this issue and what the reason is! Should I be concerned about fixing the bad right tear?

Posting pictures for your understanding!

My main question is what is the issue?

Is it my grip, form, improperly tuned bow?

Does a minor adjustment make a huge change at 20 yards?

Should I make a minor yoke change? Then it will throw my paper tune off up close if I tighten my right yoke legs and loose my left!

Just curious to what all you super tuners say!

Don’t understand how I can stack them
In the target so well and for broad heads to fly so good but to get such a nasty bare shaft tear! It’s like the arrow hits thick air and turns sideways in flight! Maybe it’s beginning this when it leaves the bow and just amplifies to my eye at distance!

I’ve loved archery since I was a kid. Sadly, since 2001 or so, I haven’t had time or money to get back in. My last bow was a wooden Darton compound and I loved it. Earlier this summer around July, I gave in to the urge to get back into it and wanted to try out a Hoyt. Not a fan boy but it was something I always wanted because of what I had seen and heard. I went in checked out some bows and decided on the Powermax. For one, I didn’t want to spend over $ 1000 on a bow when I have no experience with the new ones, I knew there would be mistakes along the way. Took the bow home, made alot of mistakes and had the regular newbie incidents. Derailed the bow while letting it down in early August, took it in, they checked it out and put it back together shot just fine. The other day I derailed it again, completely my fault. I figure the arrow came off when I put my release on, I probably pushed the nock off the string then tried to fire it. I thought for sure it would be destroyed. Took it in again this morning, they checked it out it looked fine, put the string back on and waiting for my custom strings that I ordered last week. If all goes well I think I’ll keep this bow for my hunting bow. If anyone has any carbon defiant with #2 cams, 70 or 80# max, I will be looking for another bow soon. Also considering one of the ones with quad cams made by G5 for a target bow. Hit me up if you plan on selling something like that in the near future. I want my next bow to be in blackout colors tho.

deer cart for very long walk an kill.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

OK i have did a couple of searches already on game carts and just not sold on any of them 100% I have a $ 50 i go off amazon. I think it is a guide gear. Well some of the public land i hunt does allow retrieval of game with atv’s and they want allow you to cut it up and carry it out. You can gut it but not debone it. Now I have realized that the cart i have will not cut the mustard so to speak. I am looking for a new one. The Area I am hunting is flat for the most part with swamps and sloughs everywhere and thickets to move around. It doesn’t snow and there is not always leaves on the ground, so not really looking into the sled option. Sometimes you have to go over small tress as well.

I hunt by myself 90% of the time. I helped a guy last week get his deer from the woods of were I am hunting, which is 3 miles from the designated ATV trail. We used his cart which is pretty heavy duty and it took us 4 hours to cover the 3 miles back to the atv trail. These deer a 250+lbs. It takes a hour to walk there just to hunt. So far I see everyone like the cabelas game cart. I see the Hawk game cart looks tempting. Kill shoot has a tempting looking cart, but nothing to me says this is the one that will do the job for me. So after some research I still do not have a answer for myself.

A very rare, and beautiful turkey call…

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Just saw this…..he’s putting it on ebay now.

It is a 3" solid snakewood pot call….Brass playing surface.

snakewood is a very dense wood, that make an awesome looking and sounding call.
Trust me, you don’t often find pieces of snakewood big enough to make a pot call, and the figure on this this is very nice!
I have a couple of his brass calls, and they are very nice, plenty of rasp in them too, like an old chain smoking hen…

Search John Sinclair on ebay to find it.
