Tuning RH trad bow that shoots left with weak arrows

I having difficulty setting up a nice old RH Howatt Hunter from the 60s, 30#@28, using a Hoyt Super rest, drawing 29", true not AMO.
So far, no matter what I try, I cannot get it to stop shooting left.
I have gone down to 29" 1716 arrows with target tips I stole from my kids, which should be very weak.
Tried tab vs gloves. Gloves are a bit better since I can hold the arrow slightly inside of my eye but still shoot left.
The limbs are dead straight with Beiter gauge.
Of note, the arrow tip sits more than a shaft width outside the string. I shaved down the Hoyt rest "plunger" tab about 50% which helped but still not there. About to cut the tab off completely but concerned that the arrows will start slapping to riser, although I guess that would be no different than having a thin pressure plate when shooting off a rug.

I know I could install heavy tips, get longer shafts, etc, but I don’t think it should be necessary to use extremely weak arrows to shoot straight.

BTW, with a properly setup up Olympic bow of identical draw weight, shooting traditional without sights or stabs, I am having no trouble hitting the bullseye, so I don’t think its technique related.

Thanks in advance.

Trad bow, custom vs manufactured

Hello I’ve been shooting trad for a year now and I love it every day that passes by.

But I have come to the conclusion where I now I’m getting a LITTLE BETTER every day. And I want
To upgrade my gear.

What are the major differences in a custom and manufactured ones besides the proud of having one made for you.

I’ve heard the term of stack when it comes to # and draw length can you explain.

I did bought a used bow from someone that had it custom made for him but don’t know if I want to keep it
It is a Horne mountain 3 PC recurve at 42# in 28". Made in 2012

I may have other plans for this bow as a gift for a god friend of mine that is going back to Mexico, but before I do
I want to know if I shoul keep this one or just by a custom or manufacture one

Gracias.

Attention trad bowhunters!

Ok, so I want to produce a traditional only bowhunting video. My idea for it is completely different than anything that has been done before though. I want to make a "member" submitted video and by member I mean trad bowhunters who want to film their hunts. I feel it would be a great way to share our hunts with one another and. My reason for wanting to do this is simply because there aren’t many hunting videos out there that show regular hunters not to mention ones who hunt with trad gear. I am posting this on a few other trad forums to see how many contributors I can find. The video submissions would need to be in HD along with your name, state, public or private land, and maybe what you are hunting and what gear your are using basically any info you would like to share. Also I would like to see some scenery footage, good recovery footage would be a must, and if at all possible good impact footage as well as footage of the game to be taken prior to the shot. I’m not at all worried about perfect light, or shaky camera footage, or bad sound as long as it is in HD for continuity purposes. The idea is to make a video that shows what it’s really like. My role will simply be to edit raw footage, add music, and have the finished product packaged once finished I would send anyone who wanted one a copy "at cost" meaning whatever it cost per unit to produce. I would really like to make this a yearly thing so this years footage would make 2014’s video which I would finish in about march. Anyone who is interested in filming please get back to me!This year I have hunts planned for turkey, boar, blacktail, and whitetail! So I’m hoping to get some great footage along with two trad buddies of mine. I also think it would be fun to throw in a small game segment as well as a misses segment! So send it all small game, big game, buck, doe, etc. I don’t care as long as it’s game taken with trad equipment. Thanks – Tristan

Need advice on first trad bow purchase.

I read as much as I could find on 58" longbows as I could, and what I have learned is that longbows don’t stack. Or at least it’s not nearly as bad. Is that right?
I have looked at some like the shrew, but the small few I have seen are so expensive, all around 600 or more. Is that the norm? Or are there good bows like this
that don’t cost as much? And, I don’t need 58" bow exactly, I just like the short style bow with the lack of stacking. I had a chance to shoot one that was 58", and it was so nice to shoot,
and quick too. But I never , at the time, thought to ask more about the bow.

What Trad guys taught me and it worked!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I posted over in the trad forum about coming up to the target or coming down and I got a simple answer that works sooooo well, at least for me it did and I’ll show you how much below. One guy told me his coach told him that moving to the target before release is the quickest way to TP there is…..I think I agree. What they told me was to draw, aim, hold and then let down. I did that 5 times and then shot at 15yds. the other photos are at 20yds. I either became a little weary or I started thinking and thats dangerous for me…….
