Question for all saddle hunters! #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Are you guys exclusively public land hunters? Is any of the guys that have/had 25 stands on private using these? Or is it for the hang/hunt guys trying to cut weight? I can see a lot of benifit from having the tree for cover.

Heat damage question every summer #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Every summer I see new threads with heat damage questions. How about you buy this thing https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Thermom…s%2C180&sr=8-6 put it on your bow and it will record temperature all the time/ Battery life span is about 1 year. You don’t have to be connected to it all the time. It will still record the temp. Once you come withing a range you can download all the logs to your phone.

Recurve and Bare shaft tuning Question #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Last night, I was trying to help a friend bare shaft his bow and ran into an odd scenario that I can not explain. He is shooting off the shelf with a Big Jim Desert Bighorn 56" 58 lbs at 28" draw. His arrow is a carbon express 350 11.45 gpi cut at 30" long. He has 300 grains up front. We are seeing a constant nock right flight. We did confirm with a scale that his bow is pulling 58 lbs at 28". Here is the question. He is under the impression that a nock right flight is always an over spined arrow for a right hand shooter. Is that correct? I can not believe that arrow is over spined with that amount of weight up front. I watched him shoot and I do not see him torquing his bow at all. The other hypothesis we came up with was the arrow is under spined and could be slapping the riser causing the same end result. We could not see the arrow slap the riser or hear and slap at the shot. We can not find any marks on the arrow or the riser to support the idea either. What else could be causing the issue if the arrow is not over spined?

Thanks
Russ

Center Drilled Lens Question #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Getting ready to purchase my first target sight setup and I’m wanting to try a scope with a center drilled lens. For anyone who shoots a center drilled lens is the fiber visible without using a light? I’m thinking of going with a 35mm scope, I plan on using it for everything. I’m ordering a DS advantage sight and I’m basically trying to decide between getting one of his scopes, a used scope, or an ultraview 2 scope. The DS advantage scope will cost an extra $ 30 for the light adapter and it looks like most light kits are around $ 100. The ultraview 2 comes with the built in light but costs $ 200. Don’t want to end up ordering a whole setup then realizing it won’t work without adding a light kit.

Strange arrow noise question #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have been putting together some Black Eagle X Impacts and ran into a very odd situation. While shooting/testing today I noticed a whistle from my arrows. Both 3 and 4 fletch a like. I shot an injexion 4 fletched to check if I had be missing something. All the arrows were fletched the same with wrap, AAE Stealths and glue. The only change I had was putting new points on the BE arrows. They are combo points. They only thing I could think of is the combo of parts creating a whistle through the nock. Have any of you had a similar experience or any ideas. Oh, the injexion flew dead quite.

Another “dry fire” question #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

For some reason the search box is not working for me, so I couldn’t find any info to answer my question.
I recently did the unthinkable, dry fired my Elite Synergy. Ouch! Just not paying enough attention to my shot routine I suppose. The only visual issue in the aftermath, was a derailed string and non-existent cable-slide.
Nothing looks broken or damaged. I’ve dismantled the entire bow, and checked everything with a magnifying glass for possible cracks etc. Also did the cottonball trick on the limbs to check for cracks/splinters.
The cams appear straight and true, the axles are also perfectly straight. The only issue is the cam bearings, one feels a bit sluggish in rotation.

Is it possible that I escaped mostly unharmed? Other than maybe replacing the cams, and definitely new strings/cables, should I be looking for other damage?

Thank you for any input or suggestions.

Question about RC harnesess #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I use a Metolius SafeTech harness (as with most RC harnesses)…I love it except for one thing, the leg loops and waist belt are secured via feeding the straps through buckles. This can be a bit of a pain when switching from warm weather to cold weather camo a lot and having to shorten and lengthen the straps. I have a hard time getting the straps to stay in place so that the length is the way I want it…especially if I am trying to shorten it. The one thing I like about regular tree stand harnesses is they have I guess you’d call quick release buckles.

Is it possible to safely change the straps over to quick release buckles? Anyone ever done this?
