Replacing wrist strap on older Scott release #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have a Scott release that’s probably close to twenty years old. It currently has a velcro closure, but I would like to replace it with a buckle strap. Has anyone used a newer replacement strap on an older release head? In the pictures of the new replacement straps the base at the actual strap looks similar with the steel "triangle" connection. I believe I could remove the roll pin and make the connection work. If anyone has done a similar upgrade, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question for the older elite bow experts… #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have a 70lb z28 and a 80lb judge…is it possible to swap the limbs between the 2? And if so, will it make the z28 80lb or more or less or what…and vise versa…will the judge be 70lb or what….the reason I want to do this is the z28 is super easy to draw and I could handle 10 more lbs easily. On the other hand an 80lb judge is a beast to draw…lol

How to test out older bows #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I think I’m leaning towards a Bowtech Reign 6 but obviously there aren’t many (if any at all) still in stores. Is shooting a Realm close to the Reign’s, or is it just worth the upgrade to the newer bows?

Thanks

Older eyes? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m in my mid 40’s and I have bifocals. I have noticed lately that I can’t pick up certain color pins for beans, (red and yellow). I am shooting a speciality archery verifier and see green fine. So I have made the decision to go to a single pin. I have selected 2. Any info on the sights, pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the input
Sight choices:
HHA Tetra $ 250.00
Pros:
Rheostat for brightness
Can purchase a sun shade

Cons:
Have to purchase a light
Have to purchase a lens kit
Need to shoot 60 yards to sight in

Trophy Ridge react Alpha $ 180.00
Pros:
Easy to sight in
Comes with lens retainer
Comes with sight light

Cons:
Has no rheostat available to dull down pins
The lights aren’t that good
Don’t know about getting a sun shade for lens

Older Rage 2 Blade #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello everyone, I have a pack of the older style rage two blades that still have o-rings. The package did come with 3 orange shock collars. These are Rage 2-blade, 100 grain heads.

My question is for those who have shot this style, should I shoot with the o-ring and the collar on at the same time? Or should I shoot just the collar or just the o-ring.

Forgive me if this has been asked before.

Help needed with older compoound bow comparison.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I bought a 2011 PSE Moneymaker X dual cam for basically nothing . It had been old stock sitting in a store that had closed down, but under further inspection, the bow had been fiddled with. (no stoppers)

Im a 31" draw length and in current form, the MM is sitting on 29max. I don’t have the additional modules to increase it to 31, although I know they are available.

My local bow tech dude has a 2013 Hoyt Contender(not sure if its the elite) available, setup and in my size. Its about double the price I paid for the Moneymaker, but its perfectly setup and just needs the bolt-ons. He is suggesting that I sell the Moneymaker and rather look at the Contender .

Reading up on the web, I’ve gathered that the Moneymaker is a decent bow for a newbie. I’ve gotten it for a good price so im happy with that. If I get the modules sorted, it restrung I could sit with a fairly decent bow for under 300bucks.

My question to you guys.

Do I spend the extra money on the Moneymaker (paid 200) or do I just go with the Hoyt Contender(wants 450/500)

Cheers
