Any good ideas for a quiver insert?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Spring’s a rolling in so hopefully the weather will get nice enough to do some more work on my custom quiver. All I need is the lip and am now looking into an insert right now….Now to the question…What’s a good insert? I did do some research and also some trial and error stuff. Right now I made my own broadhead case using a food container that is nicely sized and by putting in some high density foam, 4 layers, cut to the shape of the food container (1/2" thick layers). I got this stuff from a local Joanns. The leftover piece, they cut per yard, I tried rolling into a 1.5 inch log to fit into my quiver, but it is not working as I’d like it too. One, it is TOO flexible so unless i can align the sandwich gaps with the arrow, it gets pushed in more than having the arrow slide in between, and two, due to the thickness, there are not that many gaps between the layers as it was rolled. I was thinking of buying a cheap yoga mat and doing the same, but I figured I’d check around here to see what others might offer as a choice.

Any ideas for quieting the cheap ladder sticks

Does anyone mod their ladder sticks to make the halfway quiet, the cheap steel ones you get for about $ 50 give or take? Thought about wrapping them with Gorilla tape but not sure that’d be enough…they still seem to have some squeaks.

Homemade Target Ideas?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am new to archery and am limited on both storage space and $ $ $ so I am looking for a way to make a target that is not very expensive and also does not take up much space. I also have to carry my targets a decent distance to where I will be practicing so weight does come into play. Any ideas from urban archers?

I appreciate it!

DIY clarifier ideas

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Has anyone made their own clarifier? When I’m out shooting my bow during varying light conditions the pins seem to fade out which leaves me guessing where the darn arrow is going to end up. The bow shop said a clarifier may help but at $ $ $ ‘s I was thinking of making my own to fit over my peep and held in by the strings just like the peep sight so it would be made from a 1.5-2.5 reading glasses lense the same shape of the peep I have with the identical grooves so the strings will trap it against the face of the peep. What do you guys think? is it worth the trouble or will it go flying with the first shot. The reading glasses have a plastic/polycarbonate type lense so should be possible to cut, grind and shape to the right form I hope.

DIY Broadhead target ideas??

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi Guys, there are some great threads on here about making a DIY target for shooting target arrows. We now need a good thread resource for a DIY Broadhead target.

ThirdHandArchery has nice skins that would work great and the general design of the timber frame with skins on the outside will be awesome.

What we need to know is what filling to use for a broadhead target. The broadheads need to come out the back side without burying the vanes so the broadheads can be unscrewed and the arrows pulled out.

If you have had success with this please post your results here.

New arrows wont tune, any ideas why?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Received some 400 spine easton axis trads the other day and they are shooting horrible out of my bow, my gt 5575 shafts tune great and fly awesome. These arrows through paper always tear high and bare shafts fly nock high as well. Dont understand why, have tried moving the nocking point up and down and have tried several different point weights. They also seem to drop like crazy compared to the 5575’s. Regret buying these arrows right now, way more expensive then the gold tips and the hit inserts are a HUGE pain in the azz to remove, even with hot melt.

I have always used stick ladders but now hunt a place that allows screw in steps on hardwood trees only. What are the better brands or DIY set ups?
