Need some help BH / FP not hitting the same #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So here is my concern and not sure what to do.

I switched from a Index to a thumb release a few months ago. recently shot my BH (Expandable) and it was two inches low at 30 yards to FP. Went to Dealership this morning and they made my d loop a little longer. They felt the shorter d loop was causing too much torque. So new loop went on and shot a bullet hole also through paper. Mind you first time ever for me and I give credit to Thumb release as I was punching the trigger with wrist release.

So here is my problem. Went out to range and 20 & 30 BH/FP touching. 40 yards FP/BH in the 12 ring but 1/2" apart. Shot the 50 yard target and both were 4" apart and high right one time and low right the next time. My sight goes out to 60 yards.

Should I just gang adjust the sight or move the drop away rest up slightly or down depending on the next 50 yards shot grouping?

Thanks!

Broadheads hitting right of field points #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I just got a new bow, with field points the bow is right on at 25 yds. I’be shot ST mags for years and never had an issue with them flying with my field points until now, they are hitting about 4-5” to the right. Once and a while the arrow zig zags on the way to the target, which is bothering me. These arrows are brand new and I’ve spin tested all of them.

My question is, should I just move my sight before deer season? Switch to a new head? I don’t want to move my rest

I get bullet holes shooting bare shafts through paper at 15′ but there is typically a less than perfect bullet hole when shooting a fletched arrow through paper. The blade on the rest is a standard .010 which I have ground down at the tip to reduce potential contact issues but when spraying foot powder on the fletching there are always lines from the tip of the rest which can vary somewhat, depending upon nock orientation. I have tried various nock orientations but contact always occurs. Should I try a .008 blade?

The top fletching was shot through paper, accounting for the missing powder on the perimeter of the fletching while the second picture was shot straight into the target, sans paper. Comparing the two it can be seen the interference is not consistent but the nocks may be oriented slightly different from each other.

I appreciate any help you can lend.

Phil

String started hitting my sleeve

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

About the middle of deer season, my string started hitting my coat sleeve. Some of this was likely caused by the cooler weather and therefore a bulkier coat. However, I think something happened to my stance as well. I can’t figure out what I am doing differently. I am not squeezing the bow and the grip is settling into the fleshy part of my palm. I am holding my arm straight with my elbow pretty close to locked. Do you have any suggestions regarding what I can do to move my forearm further away from the string?

String slincer hitting Yoke?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Anyone else ever see this?

I noticed this happening with cat whiskers, cut short into balls, on my old Maxxis 31. Just now shooting my Carbon Spider ZT34 I put a couple monkey tails on just to see if they helped and after 20-30 shots it looks like it may be happening again. The left yoke looks like it may be being rubbed at the shot by the silencer. I have them between the speed nocks. I’ll take a closer look after work. I had planned on putting whiskers on it after I finish dialing it in and getting used to it.

Anyone else experience this? Where do you have yours located? I’m guessing I may have to go lower but between the nocks just looks best.

Thanks

string hitting baggy clothes

Now that the temp here in WI has dropped, I’m a little more concerned with my bulky clothes costing me my first trad deer. I’m thinking of making some kind of sleeve to put over my arm. Anyone have a good idea for this?

broadhead hitting left and won’t tune

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

This might be helpful to some. Expensive learning curve for me lol. I’m shooting a new Strother Rush XT at 29" with 70lb. limbs maxed out. Bought some Easton Injection arrows that are 340 spine cut 27.5". Shot good with field points. Walk back tuned dead on out to 50 yards so screwed on a broadhead. No matter how much I moved the rest the broadhead hit left. Finally went to town and bought some more arrows. Same arrows except 400 spine cut 28" and same 100gr. heads. First broadhead hit left of center so I shot a field point and it hit the back of one of the broadhead blades. Now shooting the QAD Exodus, Rage Hypodermic, and field points spot on. Learning experience for me. I am 100% confident in my set up now. If everything is tuned good on your bow and your broads are hitting left and won’t tune try some lighter spined arrows.
