Hoyt Klash vs. Darton Exciter vs. Diamond Edge Pro/SB1/320 vs Bowtech Convergence #archery

My son is ready to upgrade from his Parker and I am trying to decide which bow to go with. I know he wants the most solid back wall & light. I know that all these types of bows have less than stellar back walls by design.
I was hoping I could add like a Bomar to one of these but if axle cable are soft then probably not a big difference?
Anyway, any help or ideas are appreciated. I know I need to track down these bows and feel them for my self also.

Darton 60mx #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I just gave a guy $ 35 for a Darton 60mx. I shoot traditional and haven’t shot a compound in years. Too good a deal to pass up. Problem is I can’t find much info on the internet about it. The string, cams and limbs all look great and it’s been taken care of but there’s no rest or sights on it. Will it be difficult to put modern accessories on it? If so where can I look for them? I can’t even find any info on a manufacturing date using the serial number.

Sage limbs on an old Darton riser

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

After reading all of the threads I could find on matching old compound risers with TD recurve limbs, I decided to take the plunge. Riser is from my very first compound, an early 80’s Darton 45K and the limbs are 45# Sage. The only modifications I had to make were steel brackets to hold the limbs in place (the brackets on my Darton are plastic) and going to a 56" string because the Darton riser angles back a bit make than the Samick, though both are 19". The brackets I made fit right inside the original plastic ones. BH is just a little more than 7" and my el cheapo spring scale shows 42# DW with my 28 1/2" draw. I always liked the grip on my old Darton and love shooting this version of it. Very smooth, no stacking problems, and little hand shock. I started shooting barebow about 3 weeks ago. Before that I used a bobby pin rubber banded to the riser on my Sage for a sight pin. I usually start pretty scatter shot (especially up and down, not as bad side to side) but get more consistent after I shoot for a while. And this is only at 10 yards in my basement. Hope to get out to 20 yards soon, but the potential for mayhem scares me a bit.:) Thanks to everyone who posts the terrific information on this forum!
