Box blind build tips #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Working on building a homemade box blind. the platform is already built. about 12 feet in the air, looking for tips/examples on how to build the actual blind part of it especially the windows. Will be used for mostly bow hunting but also rifle hunting. Has everyone built their own windows? buy them premade? I see they have some premade ones online for blinds but they are pretty pricey by the time you put a couple windows on each side. Thanks!

DIY Straight -n- arrow target build for kids. #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Here is a project some may enjoy building their Kids or in my cas Granddaughter for Christmas.
Most target manufacturers today are chasing the high-speed power arrow market and crossbow market. My 5 year old granddaughter wants to learn to shoot but her arrows bounce off and to be perfectally honest, makes her angry that they don’t stick.
For Christmas this year I decided to build a target specfic for kids. It worked great from a 10-pound bow to a Genesis shot from 29" draw at about ten feet. Arrows stayed perfectly straight and of course 1 finger pull.
I took a lot of pictures during the build and directions if anyone is interested. They are posted in the DIY section. Here is a link. :secret:

Help Me Build My Whitetail Clothing System #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

As title suggests looking for some advice on finishing out my whitetail system. Southern Indiana so big temp range from Oct-Jan, So far I have the following that I have found on closeout pricing and or good sales. Looking for advice on what to add for shell (top and bottom).

Top:
FL Fuse Crew Longsleeve
FL Kiln Quarter Zip
Celsius Midi
Stratus Vest

Bottom:
FL Fuse
UA Base 4.0

Leaning towards the stratus bibs and jacket since i have the midi, that should be comparable to the fanatic when worn together (stratus/midi). I thought about the stratus pants for possibly more versatility but no zippers on the legs I think will be a no go. How cold you think I could go with just the tops listed worn together?

New Hunting Arrow Build #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Im looking to build some new arrows for this season. I mainly hunt Whitetail and turkey with the hopes of going out west for elk soon. I’m on a budget so was looking at the Goldtip Hunter XTs due to price and the Fact weight system, I want 15%+ FOC with 125 grain broad-heads. Im shooting around 65lbs at 28 1/2in draw out of a Hoyt Faktor 30, so I will probably go with 350-340 spine at 28 inch’s depending on the weight upfront. Any suggestions or opinions on arrows, builds, and broad-heads are welcomed.

High FOC Build for Short Draw, Low Draw Weight, Short Arrow length #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Looking for some advice. This topic has probably been talked about religiously and I don’t want to beat the dead horse, but I’m struggling to find a concrete answer. Here are the specs for my bow and arrows:

Bow Specs:

– Mathews Triax
– Drawlength: 28"
– Draw weight: 61.8 lb (max)

Arrow Specs:

– Length: 26.75′
– Insert Weight: 110 grains
– Outsert Weight: 70 grains
– Broad Head Weight: 100 grains
– 3 Fletch Blazers: 18 grains
– Wrap Weight: 5 grains
– Lighted Nock Weight: 20 grains

Depending on the arrow I choose the shoot, I’ll be right around 550 grains.

My question is, with such a short arrow and low poundage, will I be okay shooting a lower spined arrow? Like a 350 spined arrow. Or should I bump up to a 300 spine or higher?

This is my first time building a high FOC arrow so any advise is welcome.

Thanks in advanced!

Help Me Build My First Non-Hunting Setup #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’ve loved archery for a long time, and I figure after 30 years I’ll actually branch out from practice and hunting to punch some paper and foam. In that vein I just ordered my first more "targetish" and first non-Mathews bow in 20 years…. a Bowtech Reckoning. I’m going to see if I can find a spot league for this winter to try my hand at indoor, which I’ve never done before. I shot a lot of 3d in high school, but as a traditional shooter. I’ve shot some random ones since, but nothing consistent and just used my primary hunting bow. I am really wanting to make it a regular thing now, and want to build a bow tailored more to that.

I’ve got a rest picked out, Hamskea Trinity Pro… have the hybrid hunter on my Vertix and love it.

For a peep was going to go with the 1/4 Specialty archery peep with several apertures.

I’m unsure of stabilizers, for ASA I’ll be shooting bow novice so a tad limited there. However, I would like to shoot some spots this winter…. so kinda torn on where to start.

Then the sight… torn here also. I’m considering: Spot Hogg Hogg Father, Axcel Accutouch, and CBE Vertex.

The SH is tough as nails doubles as durable enough for hunting, can accommodate multiple scopes, and has the ability to click between marks (micro elevation). The Axcel accepts multiple scopes, also tough, but doesn’t have clicks for micro elevation adjustments. The Vertex is a pure target sight, but also more expensive up front, and I’d probably never haul it hunting in a pinch.

I like my SH, but they are heavy, and I’m building this bow for long bomb shooting… and that weight extended out and high on the riser seems less than ideal, and there the Axcel has the advantage. What the Axcel lacks… is the ability to do clicks of elevation.

… for release, just sticking with what I shoot now, Carter Evolution +…

So for those of you that have done the above activities for a while, any thoughts on the gear I’m contemplating or have suggestions for anything I may not have considered?

Carbon Xpress Blu RZ build, need help #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Shooting either a Mathews Vertix or PSE Evoke 31 at 74-75 pound draw weight, 29 draw length.

Arrows cut 29" carbon to carbon
Fletching Q2i Fusion II high profile (.55) three vane config
Firenock lighted nocks (approximately 22 grains total weight)

Thinking about putting a 100 grain brass insert up front, and running 100 grain broadheads.

Arrow weight cut to 29" is 245.05
Fletching weight approx 22 grains (with glue)
Firenocks 22 grains complete

So 289.05 prior to insert install. Add 100 grains for the brass insert and you are at 389.05 with killer FOC.

Run a 100 grain head up front and you are at 489.05

My question is, will the 350 spine be adequate for this amount of weight up front?

And what is the best arrow build calculator for iPhone in your opinion? I do way to many builds not to go ahead and get the best calculator out there.
