When has an “out of your comfort zone” hunt worked out for you? #archery

I’ve decided I need to take some calculated risks this coming season. Hunting private land with set stand locations can lead to complacency and even a little laziness. I will say there isn’t a ton of large tracts of private land available within a reasonable distance. I certainly don’t want to blow out some of the few really nice pieces of private ground I’ve got. However, based in some spring scouting, I’ve got a few areas I need to push it a little and hunt outside my traditional "comfort zone".

Up way earlier, in way deeper, pushing closer to an area I’ve traditionally steered clear from.

I had pm’d Dan Infalt on Hunting Beast about a couple of his tactics. His response was kind of his mantra. He takes calculated risks and goes for it. If he pushes a mature buck out of the area it’s part of the game. On to the next spot. Go big or go home.

You have any memorable hunts where you stepped out away from your go to spots or tactics and had a good outcome?

Thanks
