I’ve been kicking around where I would like to go , out of state, this year to do some hunting. Looks like Iowa is going to take another year to draw and my 2 buddies can’t go this year anyway. I was looking at merriams in western Nebraska, however that is a 20+ hour drive. I was researching states within a days drive that I can hunt spring turkeys and where the season comes in prior to Ohio and Pennsylvania. I settled on Tennessee.
My work just approved off the time. My plan is to head down the day before season and hunt the first 4 days of season. I’m focusing on northeastern Tennessee, specifically North Cumberland wma. Is anyone familiar with that public land or have suggestions for other public land in that general area? Not looking for any honey holes. Just a good starting point. Any recommendations on lodging? Looking online it appears the only license I need is the 7 day hunting all game license for $ 214.50. Is that correct?
