Buying a new bow this year… Suggestions? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have been archery hunting for 3 years now and am finally looking to upgrade my bow. I started out with a diamond infinite edge sb-1 when I was 15 for the adjustability and it has been great, but I am becoming more serious about bow-hunting and want to upgrade.

I have been researching bows and am very interested in the Matthews VXR 31.5 and Bowtech’s sr6 and realm x.

I am not opposed to getting a year or two old bow used but I can also get a discount on the Matthews as i work for a retailer but the only thing I’m not so sure about the Matthews is I’m hearing the draw is hard.

I am open to suggestions and hearing what people have to suggest and or say about diffent bows I should look into. Also worth mentioning is I shoot left handed so I have had a hard time finding bows to try out.

Looking for suggestions for a drop away and sight for 9 year old #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Got my 9 year old shooting a diamond prism. I do not like hostage rest that it came with and want to get her shooting a drop away.

I’m also not to big a fan of the plastic sight, what kind of sight works best for new young shooters?

I’m looking for suggestions on what will work good on the cheap.

Thanks

New model year vs old – price and features #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I know this will be subjective and based on the upgrade of specific technologies, but when does it make sense to wait to purchase the newer model year? Are the older model years cheaper (say buying a ‘19 at the beginning of ‘20)? I assume it only makes sense to go this route if there are no updates between the model years (as in it’s the same exact bow in ‘19-20)? Do certain brands has specific lifecycle (ie Chevy changes Tahoe and suburban body styles every 7 years with small mods at the 3-4 year mark)? Probably a bad example, I know…

Beans in Iowa are stupid tall this year, awesome cover right out in the open #archery

With all the rain early and tons of heat the beans (and corn) are doing amazingly well here in Iowa this year. What that means to us bowhunters is that the protein and carbs will be there in spades and the deer can travel when ever they want and still be almost completely covered up.
Not hard to see what mini "kill" plots aren’t much use here in Iowa when your whole state is food plot. Here are a couple of pics to show what I mean. Now neither deer is has a huge body but still, see how well covered even a 3 year old buck is, and this is just the beans!

Im In for a challenging deer season this year. #archery

If you know me well you know i do alot of hare scramble races and enduros. Well my right knee has been bothering me for the past 10 years and recently had a good get off at a hare scramble in Kentucky re injuring my knee.

Well long story short after a few Dr visits and an MRI both Meniscus are shot and a bad ACL tear, surgery required. Surgery may take place sometime in July but I had the idea to limp through deer season and get it done first of the year. Either way I’m hanging stands early and buying a few ground blinds just incase I can’t get up the ladder.

I have had a couple surgeries in the past but nothing with this long of recovery time. Anybody else have a simular surgery done? What can I expect?

Took one of my daughters turkey hunting here in Missouri for the first time yesterday. It was my first chance to turkey hunt this year too. Took much longer than we wanted but it all worked out and she did good sticking it out. Didn’t kill him until noon. I had a great time with her and she got to see some good action.

Diamond SB-1 for 20 year old? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello all, first I would like to introduce myself! I’ve been browsing the site for quite a while but just decided to join today. My name is GetZum and I am a 20 year old avid outdoorsman from Nebraska, USA. I have been researching bows quite intensely for a few months and have come to the conclusion that a Diamond bow is probably my best bet on a college budget. I have read really nothing but great reviews on these bows (specifically the SB-1) but everyone only says they are great for growing shooters. I was wondering if anyone had experience or opinions on these bows for someone such as myself who is done growing but still wants a reasonably priced well performing bow. I plan to hunt deer, turkey, and someday perhaps elk for reference. Any advice is helpful and please feel free to ask any questions i may have to covered!
