So I will be getting stationed in Florida shortly and I have no experience with southern hunting. I hunt out of tethrd shadow and hawk helium climbing sticks. What other gear should I look to get (I am used to layering up and not having to worry about bugs)? Any tips would be great!

Mark Kenyon has gotten quite a bit of notoriety with his recent partnership with MeatEater as a "Whitetail Expert". I have my own thoughts and opinions none of which questions Mark’s passion but do you all feel he is an Expert or value his insight on tips and tactics?

As title suggests looking for some advice on finishing out my whitetail system. Southern Indiana so big temp range from Oct-Jan, So far I have the following that I have found on closeout pricing and or good sales. Looking for advice on what to add for shell (top and bottom).

Top:

Leaning towards the stratus bibs and jacket since i have the midi, that should be comparable to the fanatic when worn together (stratus/midi). I thought about the stratus pants for possibly more versatility but no zippers on the legs I think will be a no go. How cold you think I could go with just the tops listed worn together?

I’m planning on doing a hunt that will require using a bike to access remote areas, and I need a day pack that will hold a bow. I would also like this day pack to be convenient for spot and stalk and treestand hunts. Does anyone have any suggestions or guide me in the right direction? I have been looking at the Alps Outdoorz Pursuit and a couple of the Badlands packs. My main areas I am most interested are holding a bow, compartments for treestand hunting, and quite.

Will be going on my first whitetail hunt this fall and looking for opinions in your favorite daypacks.

I have a Kuiu Icon 3200 that is a great pack for our west and over nighters but overkill for what I will be needing on this hunt. I know my Kuiu will work fine but kinda want another smaller pack and this is a good reason!

What’s everyone’s take on hunting with animals nearby? For instance we have 9 horses and they are in some areas we can hunt, we see the Deere going through the pastures or woods that are fenced in, but I’m not sure I’d wanna hunt in there?

We hunt right outside the pastures (other side of the fence).

Anyone have experiences or opinions on farm animals and deer hunting? Thanks

Need some recommendations on out of state whitetail bow hunts. Looking for a quality hunt that won’t kill the pockets. Like it to be over the counter instead of a Draw hunt. Pictures and such always help. Not looking to kill a world record just a respectable deer.
