Weight and stability In a hunting crossbow

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

What are your thoughts on weight and stability in your hunting crossbow? I have been down the feather weight train in my rifle hunting and found i could not shoot them as well as a medium weight rifle. I myself am willing to carry the 8 to 10 lb crossbow for the stability it brings. I am not young anymore at 53 hunt from the ground and most of my stands are a mile or more back in.

Arrow weight selection

Hello, I recenlty bought a used bow and they guy gave me a bunch of arrows. 6 were Carbon Express 250 arrows, the other were eastons and a couple GT’s. The Eastons and GT were same length, however, the carbon express were all shorter. Different spine than 250. I think maybe 400? . the bow is sighted in with the weight arrows the guy gave me. I just bought arrows at bass pro and the guy cut them same length as the eastons, it was x5 bass pro he said were same at GT, I know the 5 is not the best tolerance But my question is how much will the difference in arrow affect the sighting in with this new arrow if they exact same length and same grain head.

Adding weight to CB inserts for ICS bowhunter 500’s QUESTION

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Howdy-
I’ve got a friend who’s son uses ICS bowhunter 500’s and needs to do a science project on arrow penetration.

He’s testing penetration differences based on arrow weight, and needs the arrow from tip to tail to stay the same length.

The plan is to use a 75 grain tip on 3 different arrows and use insert weights to change arrow weight without changing overall length.

What would be best is an insert weight of 20 to 25 grains and another that totals around 50 grains.

Has anyone found a good system for CB inserts?

I found these on 3 Rivers-

and

that need this adapter-

Anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks!
