Wanting to get into traditional bows
Just to add to my archery hobby.
Maybe some 3d, maybe small game
Maybe whitetail one day?

I know jack tho
Thinking a Samick Sage to start as i hear it thrown out alot, and it fits my price range aa im buying a new compound this year too.
Want to shoot with no sights off the shelf.

Thinking if GT Traditional with feathers…
Think im switching to 125gr stinger buzzcut 4blades this year can they do dual duty?

What is it like hunting with traditional equipment?
3d
Im shooting 60 in a compound, moving up to 70 as i have no issues with the weight just my current bow is maxed, i am understanding not ti start too high, so im looking at 45#?on the recurve, that way im legal if i decide to hunt with it. I have some places limited to a 25yd and under shots.

Hear to learn
I know i may seem like i know alot, i just creep and been looking at prices and trying to study on my own.

Newbie wanting to upgrade gear

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Im just starting out with Archery, and my wife bought me some gear on Craigslist to get me going.

The sights are old and worn out, but the guy at Dicks tells me the mount on the bow is so old that i couldn’t attach a new sight or quiver as my bow wouldn’t support it.

I have posted pictures, anyone know if there is an adapter plate available that i could get so i can fix a new sight?

Thanks!!!!photo.jpgphoto1.jpg

wanting to get into traditional archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Well to start off in Oregon we have a unit hunt that is for traditional bow only (Trout Creeks) there are some monster Mule deer in that unit and the draw is pretty much %100 so was kinda planning on buying a recurve or longbow and giving it a try next year or the year after if I’m feeling confident enough. So my questions are how do you go about picking one out? With my compounds I shoot #70 and a 29" draw length I know #70 with no let off is probably not gona work we have to use at least #40 on deer here but I was thinking somewhere in the #50 to #60 range. What is the difference or advantage between a recurve and longbow. I don’t know of a bow shop around here that carries traditional bows so can’t really ask them for assistance.

Bad experience on a paid hog hunt wanting advise

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Last Saturday was my bachelor party so me and a group find a place to go hog hunting. We were all experienced hunters but none of us had ever hunted hogs before. We found a place only 1.5 hrs away and the website had great pics of hogs under feeders and and the whole nine yards and boasted about the quality and number of hogs. The price seemed fair $ 175 per person for any hog under 100lbs. So we get there about dawn and sign our papers and pay get our instructions and let in the gate. (This is a high fence hunt) it didn’t take us long to figure out what we had gotten our self into. All the feeders were empty some had wires hanging and no motors. The box blind was a joke and sketchy as hell. The rest of the stands were all barely 6ft high. No shooting lanes and there was only one small field and the rest of the area was trees and thicket so thick you could barely crawl through it. Now to the quality of the hogs, there was bones everywhere and some still had skin on them. The guy said it was from other people making bad shots and poor tracking but we were the only hunters in a month so it doesn’t explain the dead hogs with hide still on them. On top of that we found a couple hogs that were either sick or starved so bad the could barely raised their head and had no wounds on them. Out of 8 of us only one hog was shot and the owner said it was so skinny it wasnt worth butchering. My questions are is this the norm? Did I get what I paid for? Should we ask for our money back?
