Using climbing harness as tree saddle #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Has anyone tried this?

I’m thinking of setting it up with a small platform for my feet to ease potential numbness.

How does it compare to a real arborist saddle or specialty hunting saddle?

Rules for using public land for archery? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I will be moving to a mostly urban environment next year for graduate school. I’ll be living in a studio apartment and will have no yard to put my archery target on, as I have now. Atlanta is a big city, so I’m sure there are archery ranges but none close enough if I want to shoot a little everyday. Is it legal to find a road, pull over to the side, maybe walk a few yards into the woods where I can get some privacy and shoot at my target there?

Youth Bow Hunting What are your kids using #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My boy had finally got his poundage up to 35# and will finally get to hunt this season. He has the BT infinite edge bow but I was wandering if there is something better in the 30+ pounds draw weight range.

Second part is has anyone killed whitetail or kids killed whitetail with the infinite edge in the 35# range. I’m thinking he will be closer to 40# by season but either way I’m confident with his arrow setup and keeping kill zone under 20 yards it would get the job done.

Thanks in advance for any input and feel free to shoot me a PM if you have an upgrade your wanting to sell

God Bless USA and Happy 4th

Is using a feeder worth it if you have to stop 10 days before the start of the season #archery

In Minnesota you have to have food removed 10 days before the start of the season. Is it even worth using a feeder if you have to do this?

Chinese rage result – first time using #archery

Shot a down last night at 24 yds. She was slightly quartered to and I put it in there perfect getting a piece of both lungs. She didn’t go far. That’s the good part. The broadhead did its job. But……the head was destroyed. Blades gone, screw gone. Entire head bent. Here is a picture. I know, I know, "the broadhead did its job." Yes it did, but what if I hit a rib next time? Or anything hard? I’m done with these.

Using a old Stani rope head on a D loop #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am getting back into the archery game after about 25 years away, and man have things changed. I have a couple of old Stanislawski rope head releases ( a CNC, and a 4 finger). My bow is set up with a D loop and I am playing with a couple of different releases so that works fine.
My question is, can I take the rope off my old Stani releases and hook them to the D loop and will they work just fine.

Thanks
John

Using turkey decoys in the woods #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So this year I’m trying something different. I am focusing on hunting in the woods and hunting turkeys like I do deer instead of hunting field edges exclusively. Just pick a spot and sit there for a long time.

It almost worked out the first try. I setup on the top of a steep ridge. It’s a tough walk but I always had trail cam pics of turkeys there so I figured I would give it a shot. Within an hour I had 4 jakes come in down the ridge. They saw the decoys and got scared and hung up just out of range.

While the jakes came in I had some toms and hens come in from below me. They were 40 yards away but did not come close enough for a shot. The same thing happened a little later with a few more toms. All the birds were responding to my calls, even the hens. But they wouldn’t come close enough for a shot.

I was using a decoy with a jake fan and a hen decoy. They saw the decoys but wouldn’t come in. In fact, I think had I not had he decoys I’d have at least gotten a shot at one of the jakes. Am I better off not using decoys in the woods?
