What am I doing wrong with these turkeys? #archery

I got the first season of turkey hunting here in Wisconsin. Heres my dilemma, I cant get these birds to come to any decoys or calls. This has happened for the past 3 seasons, all being the first season. Yesterday I come home from work and theres a tom and two hens out in the field moving away. I get my camo on quick grab my gun and run out to try to intersect them. Set up a jake and a hen, do a couple calls and heres comes the tom out of the draw as excpected. But he just wont commit to the decoys. Any opinions here?

What states are Turkeys in season right now?!! #archery

I hate how late MI’s season starts for Turkeys.

Wondering in what states people are already out calling in gobblers.

Contemplating planning a couple of trips for next spring.

Turkeys and Ground Blinds #archery

I’ve seen guys say turkeys don’t care about ground blinds. No need to have them brushed in. But if I just pop one up, they aren’t going to be concerned with it?

I’m hunting these turkeys in the mountains. Lots of ridges, hollows, etc. But there’s one spot we tend to get turkeys on camera almost every day. So if the blind isn’t there one day, then it’s there the next…the turkeys won’t be bothered by it?

Bow hunting turkeys

Got something for the bowhunters going for turkey. We have redesigned our ground bow holder to fit Parallel limb bows. When we originally designed it back, in 1993, it worked great for straight limbed bows. It worked so well that Primos, Eastman, Allen, Buckwing and a few others took it to china and copied it. Since 2005 most bow companies have gone to a Parallel design, which doesn’t work well with our old style. We redesigned the head to fit Parallel limb style bows. On sale this month just in time for turkey season. Regular price is $ 14 now on sale for $ 12 two for $ 20. www.groundbowholder.com. 20131213_134212 (1).jpg Parallel limb bow and Grim Reaper = 20141019_125405.jpg

sick turkeys

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Every year I have 3-6 turkeys eating under my bird feeder in suburban Minneapolis. This year there are three big toms and two hens. They had been at my feeder once or twice daily for two months.
Then they stopped showing for about ten days. Now one hen has returned the last three days but she looks sick. Here feathers are ruffelled and not shiny. She moves very slowly and seems to have no energy. She eats very little. She will stand in one spot for 10-20 minutes and do nothing.
I am wondering if she and the others are sick and if they are dying?
Its been a tough winter, but there is more than enough feed for them under my feeders.

Any thoughts?

Turkeys in a Vinyard?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Anyone have any expierence hunting gobblers in grapes? Have a few scouted that are flying down and going into a little 15 acre grape Vinyard on their way to a cut corn field. My plan is to go out real early and set up the Rhino Blind in one of the rows toward the end closest to the corn. Plan on putting the Avian Hen and Avian Jake one row over so if they come straight Dow a row their not looking right at the blind. Any in put or thoughts would be appreciated ! Included is a pic of the set up, birds are roosting in the big woods to the right and coming right through the grapes to the left heading towards the corn.
