Hello everyone, for the past decade give or take I have been planting trees for wildlife. I started with pines, spruce, and leyland cypress trees and planted what I would have to estimate at around 3-5,000 (by hand) over the years.
Last year I began planting my first hardwood species (seedlings). I planted 50 sawtooth oaks. I continued this year by planting 50 more sawtooths and 50 white oaks. I equipped a good portion with miracle grow tree tubes (which I will say have def. helped). I enjoyed watching my trees from last year grow. I had some put on more than 5 feet in a single year (sawtooths).
Anyways, anyone else here do any tree plantings of some sort? If so what have you planted? Have any produced yet? If so how long did it take? What tree type is your favorite to plant and why.
Pics are also welcome, please share your experiences, information, etc.

Last week my bro and I were scouting a new property that was loaded with plum trees. There were tons of plums on the ground and still some hanging. I was surprised the deer didn’t have them all cleaned up. Are they a big attraction? There is also beans, corn, apples and lots of oaks on the property.

Anyone have any experience removing large poison ivy vines on trees? I’m wanting to put a ladder stand in one and wondering if I cut the vine off now will the vine hairs be dried up enough by October to not cause a rash. I get the crap easily but really need this specific tree. Thanks in advance.
