Why do i need a nock point with a whisker biscuit if there is archers paradox? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So like, the biscuit encapsulates and essentially guides the arrow the whole time, unlike other rests which essentially point it in the right direction.

So what do I need a nock point if using a whisker biscuit? Shouldn’t putting it ‘near enough’, or as close as possible by eye on the string be good enough? There is a paradox anyway.

A little high or a little low is not gonna throw things way off like with something like a weather rest, eg angle of flight once the rest is cleared. But even with a rest like that, how is near enough not good enough when you factor archers paradox?

Best HOLDING bow out there! #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I was wondering if I could get everyone’s opinion as to what they believe is the best HOLDING bow out there that they have shot. I know that every bow seems to appeal in one aspect or another whether it being looks, speed, etc but taking absolutely nothing else into account other than how dead steady your pin movement is what has impressed you the most? I own a BowTech experience and with the limbs being beyond parallel and a 32 inch ata I feel like I have to fight my bow here lately and my pin movement seems to be pretty sporadic. I know that you generally require a lot more back wait for parallel limbs so I think maybe the balance of this bow is not the best for me. I’m interested in competition shooting so I realize with this hunting bow I’m at a disadvantage, and I also know that target panic as much not to blame seeing as how I can pick up my buddies Matthews 32 ( which is the same ata ) Halon and seem to hold rocksteady compared to mine. Does a long, straight riser and a longer ATA contribute everything to creating that steady hold?!?!

Is there much difference with a 2″ fletching vs 4″?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I know someone will say there’s hundreds of threads on this subject but figured I’d see what you all have to say. I need to order a new set of XT Hunters but been thinking about going back to a 3 or 4" vane vs my blazer vanes. Is there much difference actually in accuracy between the different sizes? Even had the thoughts of possibly using feathers to hunt with. Is it worth switching? Thanks

Is there anyone who can help me?!!! Broadheads hit left

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Bow is perfectly tuned. Form is very good. Bare shafts slap together with fletched shafts. Very tight groups BUT I think I am way overspined. And it shows up when I shoot broadheads. I am 4" left at 20 yds. I really don’t want to buy new heads or shafts unless I know that it will be right for my setup. Preferably I would rather just increase head weight to get proper spine. Can anyone tell me what I need for head weight to get me to the right spine?

SBXT 60# DW
27" DL
26.75" Axis n fused 340
125 grain heads

Thanx in advance

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I am taking a group to Southern Ohio Outfitters next year. There will be ten of us in camp, I am pumped. Should be a great time with great guys and hopefully some big bucks. Has anyone been there before? I did a lot of research and it looks like a great place.

What is there to do in Nixa Missouri?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Just kidding. Went to the Black Widow operation today. I have to say that they have to be the nicest group of guys around. There was 9 visiting of us total including my 5 kids visiting while on vacation in Branson. They took us on a tour and let me and my father-in-law shoot from a selection of about 50+ stock bows. There are some sweet shooters and my F in L will be ordering a PTF in the next couple of weeks. I will have to wait a little longer, but will own one of their T/D longbows.

“Fast Limbs VS Powerful Limbs” (is there a difference?)

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Gentlefolk…this particular topic/thought fell (actually more like "came crashing down" LOL!) upon my oh so abstract mind as I gazed at my new-to-me 1975 Herters recurve….smugly taking in the extreme curvature of it’s heavily bowed and hooked limbs…as by comparison makes my Bear look like Twiggy as there sits Marylyn Monroe….loaded with static tension as just the act of plucking the string to hear the high pitched note it makes produces a smile upon my face…with the 14 strand Flemish string sounding more like taunt fast flight rather than the B50 Dacron it is….as I attempt to decide which hunting arrow to commit too…which at this point I know will either be my .600 spine 29" long beman classics w/ 100gr stingers tipping the scales at 365grs or?…my 30" long .500 spine GT3555′s tipped w/ 175gr Simmons TigerSharks tipping the scales at 435grs…and I’m almost certain I’ll choose the latter but….

In this thought process…and since I don’t currently have access to a chronograph?….my mind begged the question…

I wonder if some bows were designed with an emphasis on power rather than speed….IOW’s?…are there some "fast limb designs" that will whip out a 350gr arrow like nobodies business yet dramatically bog down when nocked up with a 500grainer?….while conversely there may be some "powerful limb designs" that might not whip out a lightweight arrow quite as fast yet exhibit very little differential in nocking up a heavy weight arrow?

To my understanding?….I believe this falls under the realm of a bows "Stored Energy"…which by the sound of things this Herters has gobs of…and would secure my decision making as described above.

T.I.A. and L8R, Bill. :cool2:
