VAP and VAP Target OD for AeroOutserts

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Maybe Dorge can chime in…

I noticed, spine for spine, VAP Target arrows are lighter than regular VAP arrows. Is the outer diameter different?

If so I’d expect different size AeroOutserts for same spined arrows.

Pin pulling off target – tune help

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey everyone, Ive recently re strung my hoyt which is relatively new to me. Before i switched strings I had a little bit of the same problem but its a little worse now. Im wondering if this is all caused by draw length, its the only thing I cant measure because i have no draw board.

Anyway, I get a slight string slap on my arm, its not enough to hurt but over time it would cause pain – this is slightly worse after new string install. Also when im holding on target all is well but as soon as i go to apply pressure to fire my release it pulls off target in a seemingly random pattern up and down.

Can get pictures in the next day or two if required.

R&W target failure

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I read about how great R&W targets are on this site and after speaking with the owner I decided to give 1 a try before I bought a few of them. Well the MS Alert Deer showed up yesterday and today I put 12 arrows into it from 40 yards. Sadly, I looked at the back of the target and found it was pretty tore up, see pics. Emailed the company and hope they make things right, we’ll see. I’ll post updates.

Question about target sights “loading up”…Would like to hear some insight

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So over the last few months I have had a issue that has bugged the heck out of me. First it started with a CBE elite target, I will explain what the deal is. For instance you walk in to the range and notice your shooting low, so you start cranking the sight down click by click. After a few turns of the knob you are now what I will called "loaded" in the downward direction. The screw is advanced and will move down with every click. HERE IS THE PROBLEM: now you have gone too far and your shooting high, you decide to come back a click or two. As you turn the knob it can move as much as 5 clicks and the scope doesn’t move, because the worm screw hasn’t "loaded" now in the upward direction. Just for kicks you go two clicks back up the rail (or down in yardage) you now have two clicks of play in either direction you can move and the scope doesn’t respond because it isn’t "loaded" in either way. Fast forward a couple months, I said to myself "CBE junk!" and bought a shibuya. Low and behold! It does the same freaking thing with less clicks the shibuya is exactly four clicks once "loaded" in one direction to move in the opposite direction. ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE? TWEAKS THAT CAN BE MADE? SIGHTS THAT DONT DO THIS?

Ordered this target on a whim, was not expecting it to be this big! I wear size 9.5 women’s shoe. The target is awesome, I sent one out to all my lady hunters that are coming bear hunting thus fall with me! Highly recommend this target, they have other critters too.

A thumb release cures target panic?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

OK so I’ll admit it…with my wrist release I had developed a case of target panic…I’d like to think it was mild, or really can be called punching the index trigger. Some days were better than others. I heard about people switching to hinged or thumb to try to fix it so I went and bought a thumb release. I shot with the thumb for a good month and was shooting pretty well. I kept the trigger pull heavy to make it more of a back tension release. Probably never really achieved it though. I never felt super comfortable with my draw length/anchor with the thumb but I stopped punching the trigger. I thought this is great I’m a thumb guy now, but due to my DL being a little off with the thumb anchor I was torquing my grip to the left. In order to see if it was the release or the bow set up I switched back to my wrist to see if the grip torque would improve. First shot bullseye, second shot touching…moved back to 30 and 40 yards same thing…holy crap I’m cured…been shooting with my old wrist release for a few days and now better than ever. No more punching the trigger. Just thought I’d share if someone was having trouble trigger punching their wrist release what worked for me. I’m going back to my wrist release but I think I’ll keep training off and on with thumb release just to prevent TP from coming back. Hope that helps someone.
