Taking gifts for the locals on safari. Looking for suggestions. #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am headed out on safari next week and will be filling my suitcases with toys, candy and gifts/sporting goods for the local kids. Looking for ideas on what else I might be able to bring that I can fit in my luggage. So far, I have this:

I will try and get packed on the 4th and see how much space and weight I have left over. I am headed to the Kalahari desert for 5 days, then off to Oraruru, Namibia for 10 days. I hope to have some massive meat donations on this trip. To date, I have donated 4 tons of meat. This will be my first trip bringing toys and gifts – I wanted to take some last time but didn’t have room in my luggage.

Having trouble setting up and taking down Double Bull Bullpen blind #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello fellow hunters,
Was wondering if any of you guys have had problems setting up or taking down your DB Bullpen blind. Im pretty familiar with the Double Bull setup as my Dad has an older Primos DB. Ive even got to point of looking at you tube videos of setup/takedown(raised hunting)ect… For whatever reason my blind doesn’t want to seem to collapse like it should. I’ve used it twice for turkey hunting this year so it’s been out in the elements to stretch/break in. Went to air it out clean up some of the mud on the inside of the blind yesterday and found that one of the rods popped out of the roof hub. Just wondering if it’s me or what because I feel like every time I set it up or take it down I’m going to break something. Thanks Ben Ellerman

Taking an autistic child into the bush

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey guys the hunting season is over and now I’m so gonna start post season scouting. On warmer days I’m planning on bringing my autistic son. When he was diagnosed they said he was very severe but I have been off work due to an injury so that has allowed me the time to work with my son and he’s really started to come around. He’s been out fishing a few times and has straight up outfished me everytime. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with taking an autistic child into the bush. He’s very outdoorsy and is showing a definite interest in hunting.

Thanks

So who is taking a kid or “newbie”

turkey hunting this spring and what will your set-up look like (bow, crossbow, shotgun, blind, private, public).

I am heading out for the youth day on 4/20, most likely a small piece of private property in Potter County with my 9-year old son. He will most likely be using a StrykeZone 380 that we purchased for this purpose (youth hunting). We will likely be set up in a blind with a few dekes out front and 1-2 cams running. No doubt Tom Teaser’s Butt Naked diaphragm call, Ed Jenkins Ghostmaker slate, and Knight and Hale’s Hale-Fire will be part of the package. I talked my youngest brother (with his tow boys) and Dad into going as well, so for the first time in a long time, there will be three generations at the camp, at the same time; all hunting. Hopefully we can get a few Hero Shots before the weekend is over.:shade: Very thankful and appreciative that the PAGC adopted the Youth Menotred Hunter Program a few years back, one of the few things they have gotten right.

Good luck to everyone, but especially to those who dedicate your time to introduce a youth or a new hunter to our great SPORT!

Joe
