How often should I be waxing my string?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I shoot compound, and from some people I’ve heard that I should wax it once a month, from others only after every 1,000 shots or so.

What’s a good guideline for how often I should be waxing my bowstring?

Does anybody put a dampener on their string stop rod(s)? Is it/should it even be necessary?

Replace string?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I purchased a bow about a month ago, and the bow is suppose to have newer Winner’s Choice strings that are only a few months old. I wax the strings after every shooting session with String Snot bow wax(first time using this product). I have a lot of fraying on the strings, I can wax them nice and smooth then after a couple shots the string looks like it has never been waxed. It looks like the fibers are breaking down or am I just paranoid. I have never had strings look like this after only several 100 arrows down range. I usually use regular bow wax, but have been trying the string snot. The string snot seems like a lighter material but seems to do a good job of coating the strings. I have even tried applying a generous coat of it to the strings and use low heat from a hair dryer to get the wax down into the string fibers good, them wax the strings good with a piece of leather. I may just go back to the good old Allen bowstring wax and see what happens. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Mathews Z7 broken string suppressor.

So I was just out shooting. Fired about 30 or so arrows and on the final shot the arrow went left of target, shot didn’t feel right, and I hear metal fall to the ground. I look down and it’s my string suppressor laying there. It broke right in half. It may just be coincidence but this is the first I’ve shot the bow since a mini tune up. Had a dealer reserve parts of the string, new D loop and new peep. May the bow have been pressed incorrectly? I just read a few posts about this from others. I understand that Mathews will cover it through their customer service. But, I bought the bow used. Will it still be covered? Also, is there a better/stronger suppressor I could get to replace this one?

String slincer hitting Yoke?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Anyone else ever see this?

I noticed this happening with cat whiskers, cut short into balls, on my old Maxxis 31. Just now shooting my Carbon Spider ZT34 I put a couple monkey tails on just to see if they helped and after 20-30 shots it looks like it may be happening again. The left yoke looks like it may be being rubbed at the shot by the silencer. I have them between the speed nocks. I’ll take a closer look after work. I had planned on putting whiskers on it after I finish dialing it in and getting used to it.

Anyone else experience this? Where do you have yours located? I’m guessing I may have to go lower but between the nocks just looks best.

Thanks
