Trying to figure out my holding weight, not so straight forward

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Not so straight forward and just a guesstimate, 26" Vanquish riser wound in 3 turns on the bolts, 43# Hex6′s at 26.25" on the button showing 44#, problem is I don’t have decent set of scales (just cheap fishing scales) seems from my Longbows it appears to be consistently showing around 2# less as marked on the scales and as I’m drawing 1" shorter I’m guessing I’m holding around 43 to 44# at anchor.

29" 500 Lightspeed 350g, 3" feathers, 125g point gives me 60y point on (ideal for IFAA 3D), bareshaft showing slightly stiff but I don’t want to increase point weight or poundage as one more turn on the bolts puts me out of my Form comfort zone, at this current setting I’m drilling the 10 ring out to 40y one more turn on the bolts and I start to see a more Form mistakes. I’ve got some 29" 550 Carbon1′s with 120g points on order and I hope these tune a little better.

Today I figured out 70 and 80 yards using riser shelf, felt good to keep them in the score zone at these distances.

Bitz Helical vs Straight clamp?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I opened up my Bitz straight jig to fletch up some vanes for some of my buddies and noticed that the Straight clamp doesn’t have the metal plate that the magnets stick to like the Right or Left Helical clamps do. Is this normal or do I need to email Bitz and get a new plate?

helical vs straight fletching showing tuning issue?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been covered already. I did a search and didn’t seem to find I covered.

A bought a new bow a month ago and a ½ dozen arrows to get started with it. I liked how
thing were working so I ordered a full dozen more arrows.

This is my setup:

Darton 3800, 51lbs, 29”, QAD rest.

½ dozen arrows: Beaman ICS Hunter Pro, 29” – shaft length, blazers with slight helical.
1 dozen arrows: Beaman ICS Hunter Pro, 29” – shaft length, blazers with straight fletch.

The 2 groups of arrows are within 2mm length and the average weight (380gr) is within 0.3gr
between the 2 groups.

My issue is yesterday when I was out shooting (60yds) was I getting 2 different groups between
the 2 batches of arrows. The ones with a slight helical were centered in the target. The straight
fletched ones were about a foot low.

I didn’t have time to play with my rest but that is my thought.

A slight tuning issue?

Thanks,

Bob
