For those of you using the sticks with the stock straps that come with…. how do you pack the straps in? They have the buckles so I dont want to leave them attached and dangling, so do you keep them in your bag so they arent clanging together or to your stand or what?

First Climb and Stand Hang w/Lone Wolf Sticks and Assault Stand #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My sticks and stick quiver came today and I had some time to play with getting everything together and seeing how everything nested together. One I got everything in order, I took it out to a telephone pole behind the house to make a test run. I got all of this with the intention of making it a run-and-gun stand set

Rain drops were already starting to fall so I decided hanging 2 of the 4 sticks would have to do. My first impression fiddling with everything was "man, this is a lot of straps". Between my harness, lineman’s belt, straps for the sticks, and straps for the stands, there were straps everywhere. The two sticks and EZ hang hook for the stand went up easily. I climbed down, put the stand on my back, and climbed back up to hang it and it went fairly smoothly. In comparison to climbing with my LW sit n’ climb, there are definitely more moving parts with this setup and more to get used to.

So, for those of you using a similar setup using either the Assault or Alpha, is it easier to leave the straps on the stand and sticks or keep them separate in a pocket to avoid tangling and clanking of the strap cleats? I’m a stickler for avoiding the sound of metal-on-metal when setting up so I want to eliminate it where ever possible. I have seen a lot of users of this setup using some type of rubberized tape and/or parachord to prevent the metal-on-metal contact.

The standard unpadded straps that come with the stand are functional but will definitely be replaced with either padded straps or the Molle pack system but I need to look into that some more.

Any and all suggestions/tips are appreciated. I know there are also a few threads on the LW stand and stick system so I’ll be sifitng through those as well. I can definitely see the versatility in this stand and stick combo and I’m looking forward to finding the arrangement that works best for me.

So for you guys using talons and climbing the tree as you go, how do you descend the tree after removing sticks? Do you loop them on your harness? Can’t imagine you can get them back in the talons while stand is on your back.

Hello all first I want to say that I am new to this site so this topic might have already been covered but i havent found it. I have been bowhunting since i was 12, I am 21 now, but normally use stick ladders to climb a tree. This season I will be using a millennium m100u to hunt public land in Missouri and want to use climbing sticks. My question is whats the best brand, how many sticks to get, how far apart do i space the sticks, and any other tips or DO NOTS to do while using the sticks. Thanks in advance, PS if anybody has tips for public land Missouri hunting that would be appreciated but not the main topic of this post.

Muddy Pro vs LW sticks

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have the Muddy Pro sticks and they are really great with the double steps and rope attachment. They pack up good and have to be the quietest folding stick to use. The downsize is their weight. By my calculations the LW sticks for the same height is about 5 pounds lighter. The 5lbs is not an issue now but when the heavy clothes and bigger stand come out in the winter the 5lbs. will mater. I have been thinking of buying some LW sticks but the single sided steps may be an issue. Has anyone went from double steps to single steps and have regretted it?

Sticks and stands combo

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey guys, I know that probably been brought up plenty of times before but I’m still gonna ask for recommendations on a sticks and stands set. I wanna get it relatively soon so I got a nice portable set for the best time of the year. So basically what’s the lightest set up that you guys have? I’m leaning towards the new muddy sticks and stands that come with the rope setup, but looking at the lone wolfs and millenniums it’s hard to make up my mind. WhAts your guys input? And if you got a light set what’s your combo and total weight? Thanks for the help

Any ideas for quieting the cheap ladder sticks

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Does anyone mod their ladder sticks to make the halfway quiet, the cheap steel ones you get for about $ 50 give or take? Thought about wrapping them with Gorilla tape but not sure that’d be enough…they still seem to have some squeaks.
