Can the Heater Body Suit be warmer – Sitka Incinerator, Cabelas Stand Hunter, IWOM? #archery

I have an injury that makes it so I get cold very easily. Anything less than 65’ degrees is uncomfortable. I used to fish, hunt, and icefish but now fishing in anything less than 65’ degrees is too cold especially when my hands get wet. They hurt for hours after.

So I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money attempting to stay warm so that I can keep enjoying the sport of hunting that I love so much. But it’s getting harder. I’ve tried the Cabelas Stand Hunter parka and bibs (Windshear version, they make one without Windshear for some reason) and Sitka Incinerator both with a Milwaukee Battery Operated Heated Jacket underneath and Cabelas Artic Pac boots with Thermacell insoles and a Cabelas handmuff with battery operated hand warmers. I’ve also tried the IWOM with the Milwaukee Heated Jacket underneath and have been cold.

I wore the Cabelas Stand Hunter with the Milwaukee Heated Jacket today and got a bit cold. It was 9’ degrees when I started hunting.

I know a lot of people love the HBS and I’m interested but I’m wondering if I’d be warm enough. I know that not all insulation is the same but the HBS has 300 grams of insulation and so does the Cabelas Standhunter. I’m not sure how much insulation the Sitka Incinerator has, it doesn’t state it on their website. The IWOM has 150 grams insulation.

So, could the Heater Body Suit, Artic Shield Body Suit or Other Suit be warmer than the Cabelas Standhunter, IWOM, or Sitka Incinerator combined the Milwaukee Heated Jacket?

Anyone here use this tripod stand? #archery

I bought one of these sniper outlaw tripod stands at Menards last year when they were clearing them out. Hunted out of it once and the seat is awful. I’m wondering if anyone here has one or if they have done any modifications to it. I’m wondering about just taking the whole seat out and using a camping chair. They seat is in the center so you have enough room to turn completely around but it puts you to close to the edge. Being able to sit back further in a more comfortable chair would be good I think.

First Climb and Stand Hang w/Lone Wolf Sticks and Assault Stand #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My sticks and stick quiver came today and I had some time to play with getting everything together and seeing how everything nested together. One I got everything in order, I took it out to a telephone pole behind the house to make a test run. I got all of this with the intention of making it a run-and-gun stand set

Rain drops were already starting to fall so I decided hanging 2 of the 4 sticks would have to do. My first impression fiddling with everything was "man, this is a lot of straps". Between my harness, lineman’s belt, straps for the sticks, and straps for the stands, there were straps everywhere. The two sticks and EZ hang hook for the stand went up easily. I climbed down, put the stand on my back, and climbed back up to hang it and it went fairly smoothly. In comparison to climbing with my LW sit n’ climb, there are definitely more moving parts with this setup and more to get used to.

So, for those of you using a similar setup using either the Assault or Alpha, is it easier to leave the straps on the stand and sticks or keep them separate in a pocket to avoid tangling and clanking of the strap cleats? I’m a stickler for avoiding the sound of metal-on-metal when setting up so I want to eliminate it where ever possible. I have seen a lot of users of this setup using some type of rubberized tape and/or parachord to prevent the metal-on-metal contact.

The standard unpadded straps that come with the stand are functional but will definitely be replaced with either padded straps or the Molle pack system but I need to look into that some more.

Any and all suggestions/tips are appreciated. I know there are also a few threads on the LW stand and stick system so I’ll be sifitng through those as well. I can definitely see the versatility in this stand and stick combo and I’m looking forward to finding the arrangement that works best for me.
