300 Spine 70 # 125 Grain 31″ on PSE Eagle

Hey all,

I bought a new bow. Finally! My next newest bow is an old Golden Eagle Revolution circa 1997-ish. I used to shoot 2219s at 29 3/4", and shoot those now out of my new Eagle. I want to stay with a heavier arrow, but not weigh the bow down with 550 grains of 2219. I bought a half-dozen Beman ICS Hunters from Academy that are 31" long. According to the spine charts, I should be ok leaving them at 31" and installing a 125 grain point. This would leave me with a finished weight in the neighborhood of 436, allowing a good mass for hunting elk, but without launching the aluminum telephone poles I used to shoot. I plan on using these arrows for anything and everything from 3D to hunting. My draw is 29", so the arrow will stick over the end of the riser about .5" – 1", depending on the point on there. Does this setup sound at all reasonable, or should I opt for a heavier point and shorter arrow. I haven’t even seen how these tune yet, but I thought I’d bounce it around the more experienced brains here. I can’t edit the title, but it should read Parker Eagle. I used to shoot a PSE.

DIY spine tester guide

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I was hoping the folks that have built them could provide guide to how use one.
Maybe how to tell if it is working correctly?
How to find the stiff side of the arrow,(does the arrow have to be uncut to do this or can you find it on arrows already in your arsenal)?
What spine chart you should be using and where to find it.
Cause honestly I built one and I am not exactly sure if it works right or not.
I went to my local archery shop and bought a pile drive 350 uncut to see if it was working correctly. When I checked the spine it read 7.20 which converted to 360 something and I am not sure if it is correct.
So if someone could guide me along in this pursuit it would be greatly appreciated.
Ty

Arrow Spine Selection Dilemma!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi all,

Recently purchased a bear motive 6 70# the bow is set around (65), and have been fiddling around with tuning it today. I ran into some issues as i shoot gold tip ted nugent 55/75 at 28" 100gr tip but had alot of problems with groups going right of the target, which in my understanding is the arrow spine is to soft, therefore I need a stiffer spine. After doing some research on the net my dilemma is do i go with 340’s or 300’s? Keeping in mind that I intend to wind the bow up eventually and possibly use heavier tips. I thought as always you guys would have some great advice so please tell me what you think.

As this is one area that I find confusing, and am keen to learn more about.

Cheers,
Jack

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So I go my new Vector Turbo, and had a friend run it with all my specs on his ONTARGET2 program. It calls for a 300 spine arrow, THEN I look at eastons spine chart and It calls for a 340 spine. Which is more likely to be correct? thanks
