Switching from FMJ to Axis? Brass inserts? Need help choosing spine.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m gonna try the axis arrows as my new hunting arrows. I’m wanting to try the hit brass inserts (either 50 r 75 grains) to make up for the wieght diff between the two arrows. I like a hard hitting arrow, just don’t like the bending of the FMJ’s. I shoot a Mathews z7 at 68lbs with a 27" 400 spine FMJ arrow and a 100grain swacker. What spine would I need in the axis when adding a 50 r 75 grain insert?

Arrow Spine Help

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m looking to buy my first set of outdoor target arrows and I need help. I’ve already decided on Easton’s Carbon Ones, but I’m not sure what spine to get. I shoot an Apex 8, 27" draw length, and about 41# draw weight. Easton’s arrow chart says I should get 660s, although I wanted to check first with some more experienced archers.

Also what grain tips?

Thanks 🙂

Correct arrow spine?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Quick question on correct arrow spine. My current setup is a mathews chill-r, 28.5 inch draw, 70 lb dw. I have Easton axis n fused arrows with a 340 spine cut to 28 inches that I recently put Easton brass inserts in weighting 75 grains. Total arrow weight is around 470 grains. I am just wondering if anyone knows if this is underspined because of the inserts? And if so will it make a big difference in accuracy? I like to target shoot but mostly hunt. Thanks!

Arrow Spine Recommendation?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

What would some of you recommend for arrow spine? I am shooting a Bowtech Prodigy at 71.5lbs draw length is 29" I am going to install GoldTip’s 50grn inserts with 100grn heads up front to increase FOC so that will be 150grn up front.

I am looking at the GT Velocity arrows and the chart says 340 spine for a 27 1/2" arrow shaft which is what I will be shooting. I am thinking of using a 300 spine to be a little stiffer with 150grn up front?

What are you thoughts?

Thank you,

Arrow Selection Spine Help!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I need some help from you guys a lot smarter than me. I have been shooting gold tip xt hunters in 55/75 and realize that I am probably way underspined at this point (originally was only shooting 60#). I am shooting 29 in, 70#’s at about 270 fps (IBO 310). What spine arrow should I be looking for? I have been shooting 100 gr heads but am wondering if switching to a stiffer shaft throws off my foc? Should I go to 125 gr heads? Thanks for your input!

FOC and Spine help

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am shooting 340 FMJ. They measure 29 1/4 from the nock throat to end of arrow. I am trying to get the measurement of FOC. The balance point is measured at 18 inches. When I do the calculation I am get 11.5ish for the FOC. I am shooting 125 heads. I was expecting my FOC to be higher and would like it to be 13+. These are rows are brand new and I have no issues changing arrows but can these handle more weight up front? Any idea how much my FOC would change if I went to 150s? Do I have spine for it? Total arrow weight is 500 grains

Thanks

Spine issues or center shot probe??

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Shooting a carbon spyder 30 at 66 lbs, using Easton Axis 400’s at 28".

Having issues, muzzy MX3’s are 3-4 inches right of field points(100gr) at 30 yards. Dbl checked center shot and it looked good and proshop, bumped it away from the riser just a tad and seemed to help a bit, but if CS looks good I don’t want to mess with it to much!? Do I need to goto a 500spine axis?

Thank you for any advise and help!
