350 or 400 Spine

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I shoot a Bear Agenda 6 maxed at 68 lbs. I have a 27 inch draw length and currently shoot Black Eagle Carnivores at 26.25 carbon to carbon in 350 spine with 125 grain field tip/broadhead. I put new strings on the bow went to a QAD HDX Ultra from a Rev 2.0. Got everything dialed in and then shot the bow through paper and got a low tear. I then shot a 400 spine that was a few inches longer through paper and was shooting bullet holes. I am currently thinking of trying the Black Eagle Rampages or Renegades. Should I shoot the 400 spine due to my arrow length or stay with the 350 spine. Thanks for the help!

Arrow Spine

I am going to get new arrows and am wondering if the spine is going to be right. I am shooting a Hoyt Nitrum 70lb #1 cam at 26in draw. The arrows I was going to go with are Easton Hexx 330 with 75gr brass insert and 100gr tip cut to 25.5.

Differing Spine Calculator Results

Using the SFA (Pinwheel) software, for a 29.25" arrow at 29" draw (I like my broadhead in front of my knuckles) & 63 lb draw weight, I come up with an optimal spine of 0.339 for a 125 gr head w/ 50 gr insert, and 0.327 for a 150 gr head w/ 50 gr insert.

Using the Archer’s Advantage software, with the same 29.25" arrow at 29" draw & 63 lb draw weight, I come up with an optimal spine of 0.360 – 0.391 for a 125 gr head w/ 50 gr insert, and 0.350 – 0.375 for a 150 gr head w/ 50 gr insert.

Has anyone done any research between these two programs to see if one bears out more in application than the other? Absent that, given I’m shooting a compound bow, string loop, mechanical release, carbon arrows, drop away rest, etc. would it be better to err on the side of the stiffer findings of the SFA software and stay in the 0.327-0.339 spine range to shoot either of those setups, or defer to the weaker 0.350 – 0.391 range?

Any informed input or experience that anyone can share would be appreciated, as always.

Spine Question

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello everyone.

I recently changed my draw length down to 27" from 27.5" and I was wondering what the optimal arrow spine would be. I shoot my bow at 60lbs with 100 grain points.

I was shooting some old easton aftermath but am looking to try out carbon express.

Thanks

correct arrow (spine)

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello, everybody.
I’m beginner archer and I dont have any kind of assistance from a club in my area.
At the (past) many years at my area we had a coach that knew several things and he helped me a lot with my equipment.
The last years I’m alone and I’m trying to find the correct type of arrows for me and my son (13 years old).
The last weeks I have read plenty of articles, charts, etc for the correct arrows.
To be honest….. I’m more confused that informed!
Please, is there a simply explanation how can I choose the best arrow type for me???
I’m an indoor archer of 18m, (very rare to shoot field).
If my bow is 70” 36 lbs recurve and my arrow lenght (bottom of the nock slot to the end of the saft) is 27,75in how can I choose the spine for carbon or aluminium arrows??
(I have read already easton and …more charts without make any sence as I cant measure the weight of my arrows)

Is there a more simply way to choose??

Thank you….

Correct Spine

Want to double check to arrow spine..

http://www.carbonexpressarrows.com/s…tDrawChart.pdf

The IBO FPS on worksheet is the actual rating for the bow I assume yes? So if my bow’s IBO is 337 (the bow rating not my actual FPS at 60lbs) I would add +12 to this, is that correct?

After all said and done, my adjusted weight is 71lbs so 340 spine is the way to go I assume? I hear some say I should be using a 400 spine, but this chart says differently. I am assuming 10-15 years ago a 60lb bow would indeed use a 400 spine, but the faster bows today are using stiffer spines at 60lbs?
