So i’m finally going to get some DSD’s…now which ones?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I made the final leap today as a bow hunter, and I sold my turkey hunting shotgun to be 100% bow. I no longer own a "hunting" rifle or shotgun. Made a decent chunk of change from this gun, so I’m looking to upgrade my decoys.

Was at Cabela’s for over an hour sitting there looking at Avian’s, DSD’s, and Dakota’s. DSD’s just stood out above the rest and that’s what I want to go with. So the question is now, which ones?

I’ve used decoys a little during my turkey hunting career, but not enough to really distinguish what "setup" works best. But from everything that I HAVE seen and read, Tom’s don’t really care about hens once they see a jake decoy. So would it even be worth sinking money into a hen or two? Scheels has the DSD breeding pair on sale for $ 219, but I think the sitting hen would be about useless with how low it sits. Cabela’s had the DSD flock for $ 479…so thats another option.

Suggestions? Whatever money I save will probably go to other hunting gear anyway lol

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

My laptop is down for the count I think. Would anyone mind to run some numbers for me? Wanting to decide on spine for 2 arrow possibilities. Bow is Obsession Addiction OBB, 62#, 28.5", roughly 20gr on the string. Not super concerned with speed. Wanting to run 2 arrows.

Arrow #1:
GT Kinetic Kaos
No ballistic collar
10-20gr FACT weight
GTO bushing and nock
Vantec Swift 2.88" vanes
100gr point.
Do I need 340 or 300?

Arrow #2
GT Velocity
50gr insert
GTO bushing and nock
Vantec Swift 2.88"
100gr point
Again, 340 or 300

Any help is appreciated!

Anyone else considering some of the Sitka waterfowl for bowhunting?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Looking over some of the 15 Sitka lineup and am intrigued by the Dakota hoody and grinder pant. I was all set to try the equinox series out but the wind proof hoody of the Dakota and the versatility of the grinder pant has me re-thinking. I have the fanatic lineup for mid Nov and the FL Sanctuary for second split here in Iowa but am re-thinking my early season setup now.
Anyone else compare the equinox and the Dakota/grinder setup?

Shot Some Bows Today

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Shot an Elite E35 A Mathews no cam HTR and A Pse Decree
The elite was really nice. I liked the draw and the let off. Very smooth and easy to hold.
The Mathews was also nice. Smooth and dead in the hand. Grip was not the greatest but ok.
The decree was good too. I liked the draw and the grip and it had a little vibration on the shot but nothing too bad.
If I had to choose between the three and was buying today I would take the decree. The speed and the draw and the fact that I shoot a pse drive LT and am used to the grip and the let off and can drill with the drive.
All 3 bows are nice and you couldnt go wrong with any of them.

Question about target sights “loading up”…Would like to hear some insight

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So over the last few months I have had a issue that has bugged the heck out of me. First it started with a CBE elite target, I will explain what the deal is. For instance you walk in to the range and notice your shooting low, so you start cranking the sight down click by click. After a few turns of the knob you are now what I will called "loaded" in the downward direction. The screw is advanced and will move down with every click. HERE IS THE PROBLEM: now you have gone too far and your shooting high, you decide to come back a click or two. As you turn the knob it can move as much as 5 clicks and the scope doesn’t move, because the worm screw hasn’t "loaded" now in the upward direction. Just for kicks you go two clicks back up the rail (or down in yardage) you now have two clicks of play in either direction you can move and the scope doesn’t respond because it isn’t "loaded" in either way. Fast forward a couple months, I said to myself "CBE junk!" and bought a shibuya. Low and behold! It does the same freaking thing with less clicks the shibuya is exactly four clicks once "loaded" in one direction to move in the opposite direction. ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE? TWEAKS THAT CAN BE MADE? SIGHTS THAT DONT DO THIS?
