Best Video I’ve Seen About Shot Placement on Hogs #archery

I just stumbled across a new video on YouTube that is the best I’ve seen about shot placement on hogs. I just finished a hog hunting swing of Texas and Oklahoma and shot a lot of hogs. I made some mistakes on some of my shots and this video confirms everything I experienced. I was way over trusting my set up and underestimating the toughness of big wild hogs.

Here is a pic of a shot on a nice boar that I did not recover. Almost no blood and no hog. I hit exactly were I aimed, but should have waited for a quartering away shot and aimed lower. I’ve taken many hogs with that exact same shot…hopefully I am learning.

How often do you hunt the same area? Seen buck twice

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So here is the situation – I hunted a stand Sunday morning and saw a big buck about 170 yards away down a power line. This morning I sat in a tree where I would have been able to shoot him if he walked the same path as he did 3 days ago. I thought it was a slim chance but I had to try. So, to my amazement, I saw him again but this time much closer. He walked out of the woods onto the same power line at almost the exact same spot as three days ago. If I had picked a tree 20 yards further down I would have had a shot at him. This buck is prob in the top 5 biggest I’ve ever seen while hunting.

I’ve only ever tried this strategy once before – in 2014 I saw a buck and then a few days later hunted exactly where I saw him and surprisingly the exact same buck walked right by the same spot and I shot him.

So my question is, would it be overkill to just keep hunting the spot? Im planning to hunt Friday morning, Saturday morning, and Monday morning. I know the deer probably isn’t using the same area every single day. How often can you hunt a spot before ‘wearing it out’? I’ve got five or more other properties I can hunt, but none where I’ve seen a big buck this year.

Thanks!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Has anybody seen this before? I have seen deformed horns from earlier injuries, but not this. This was in august (wrong date on pic) and it looks to me like he just never grew his right antler. No way he shed yet. This is the best picture i got of this guy. Any thoughts on why this happened?

Seen Jerry posted this on another Forum about BEE Arrows

Black eagle arrows continue to impress me, the spine deflection continues to get better.

Because of the quality of shafts coming out I made a decision to change the way we offer black eagle arrows. We now offer them in 3 bare shaft price levels and 4 arrow price levels:

Factory Fletched – The lowest price fletched arrows we have available
Standard B.E. Executioners – Arrows & Bare Shafts – These are custom built but they are not stiff side indexed
Spine Indexed B.E. Executioners – Arrows & Bare Shafts – Stiff side tested and indexed
B.E. Executioners Matched to +/- .005 in – Arrows & Bare Shafts – Stiff side tested indexed and static spine matched
B.E. Executioners Matched to +/- .0025 in – Arrows & Bare Shafts – Stiff side tested and indexed and static spine matched

Most wicked Broadhead Ive ever seen

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

OK I cannot remember the exact name of the broadhead but the rep who set my new bow up today showed me what looks like a 3 leaf clover with a 1/4" chisel tip in the center now the 3 circles are heavy razors on the leading edge and broken on the outside center so its like 2 half circles facing each other for each leaf. Each leaf was 1/2"dia.+- and they shot it through a 1/2" pc of cabinet grade plywood so there were 3 circles going in the front face but the entire backside was blown out like a bullet hit it. In a foam target it punched out 3 perfect 1/2" circles of foam for the entire length of penetration they looked like ear plugs so massive bleeding and tissue dammage is in order. I believe the name was Hazard broadhead or biohazard broadhead as they look just like the bio hazard symbal for hazmat. Has anyone else seen or heard of these?
