Right handed shooter left eye dominant. what to do? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Years ago when she started shooting guns we did the dominant eye test and it came up right. She is right handed, but for some reason she decided to revisit the dominant eye test tonight and it came up left eye dominant most of the time but not always, maybe 8/10 came up left. Sooooo…. switch hands? Or shoot left eye closed? She hasnt been shooting long so if she is going to turn around i would just assume get it over with now. She is having a little bit of a tough time and i have to wonder if this is part of why

Right single beveled broadhead #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

What would be acceptable and what would work the best. Straight fletching, right off set , or right helical. I know anything to the left works against the broadhead. Till I get into fletching I use what ever come on the shaft. Normally straight or I use the quick fletchings . I notice most have the right off set.

What states are Turkeys in season right now?!! #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I hate how late MI’s season starts for Turkeys.

Wondering in what states people are already out calling in gobblers.

Contemplating planning a couple of trips for next spring.

Tuning a right tear from a carbon rose.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

My wife has a carbon rose set at 60lbs 25.5 in draw with a 400 spine arrow right handed. It’s equipped with a qad hdx rest. Currently I don’t have the spacer block in it (the pro shop left it off) but the rest is all the way left. Still have a tear like this o–<. The cams line up with the marks at brace. I wouldn’t say I’m positive the nock height is perfect but it hasn’t been an issue yet ( that I can tell im no expert) If this were a bow with yokes id sort of know what to do but with it being binary I’m a little lost. How can I help her get this tuned. P.S. we’ve worked on grip and I’m fairly certain she isn’t torquing she has a very relaxed grip. I’ve also shot it and get the same tear. When we first got the bow 9 months ago it shot bullet holes.
Please help and thanks in advance!

New bow doesn’t seem to be setup right…

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Granted I’m new to all this archery stuff, but just from what I’ve learned so far on here from you guys I have a lot of questions/concerns about the way the local shop set up my bow. Bow is a new Hoyt Defiant 34.

First of all, I am constantly fighting my peep rotating to the left on me. Shop guy says this is normal and I have to "train" my string by by rotating it back before every shot. But no matter how much I rotate it it still doesn’t stay lined up after I draw back.

Second, and I think this is compounding my peep rotation issue, is the way my D loop is is tied on. Its this right? The top and bottom knots are different, and both the top and bottom of the loop are coming off the same side of the string. I thought the loop was supposed to cross the string with the knots being on either side.

Third, my rest is not mounted level. It is actually tilted forward quite a bit. This doesn’t seem right to me?

Fourth, my arrow appears to be riding very high compared to the Berger hole. Kinda hard to tell but the bottom of the arrow is either in line with the top edge of the hole or completely above the hole altogether.

Sorry in that last pic I forgot to pull down on my rest cord, but you get the idea. In all of these pics the bow is as level as I can get it with my bow jack and holding a level against the string.

I have about 200-250 shots on the bow. Just had it in the shop for a "check-up" and the guy there (different guy than the one who set it up) said everything was fine and he’s the one who said what I wrote above about the peep rotating.

What do you guys think? Am I wrong here or are these things just not right?

New stand: XOP Silver Medium — did I make the right choice? Also, stick suggestions?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hey guys. A few days ago, I was fortunate enough to FINALLY receive permission to hunt a small parcel of swamp that backs up to a 500ac tract that prohibits hunting — and, coincidentally, harbors decent bucks that never receive hunting pressure or leave its confines. I own a couple Guide Gear "Extreme Comfort Hang On" stands from Sportsman Whse, which I’ve found to be probably the most comfortable tree stand I’ve ever roosted in…. However, those suckers are HEAVY and are a huge pain to hang — accordingly, I keep them up all year.

So, I suddenly found myself in the market for an ultra-lightweight hang on that I can easily and quickly hang myself, and that I can trust to last me safely for several many years. A quality, fairly mobile stand is something I think every hunter needs at least one of, so I’m due for an upgrade.

My budget: $ 170 max. I definitely want an aluminum stand, and I definitely want something that hangs easily and is somewhat comfortable.

As I had a bunch of AMEX Amazon points, I pulled the trigger yesterday on the XOP Silver Series Medium hang on, which I picked up for $ 160. I’m really hoping it’s easy to hang and light enough for me. Should be here tomorrow, but is easily returnable if I don’t like it…

Do you guys think I made a good decision? Are there any other stands within my pricepoint that I should have considered? I looked at the LW AlphaTech F1 (same price), but I thought the XOP’s cast platform (which does away with any creaking welds that I’ve grown to hate) and cast i-beam seemed a better bet. I also liked the Millenium M7 MicroLite (and its mounting bracket) alot, but Amazon was sold out unfortunately. Hawk Helium looked pretty good, too, as did the Hawk XPLOR — but were a little more $ . Not sure if there were any other options for an aluminum hanger w/in my budget?

Finally, any thoughts on a decent stick/ladder set up that’s a great bang for the buck right now?

Thanks!
