Incorrect vertical rest position

So when the horizontal rest position is off the groups aren’t tight and when walk back tuning or French tuning the groups make / or \. So my question is what occurs when the vertical rest position is incorrect?

New bow needs a rest. AAE pro drop or QAD?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

The new bowtech specialist will be here next week and im torn on what rest to put on it. Currently on my hoyt i have a QAD but have been looking at the AAE pro drop. What are the advantages of a limb driven rest? The bow will be strictly for 3D and some indoor shooting. I see a lot of guys on here like limb driven rests on target rigs. Thanks

Elevated/flipper rest and instinctive shooting?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m currently in the process of getting back into archery after a number of years away from the sport. I will be shooting recurve and primarily Field, target and a bit of 3D.

Back in the day I shot mainly longbows and only instinctive. I wan’t to stay with instinctive, which (for me at least) means I will have to cant the bow to keep both eyes on the target.
Being new to recurves I know very little about arrow rests and such. As I understand it an elevated rest or a flipper rest allows for the use of plastic vanes rather than just feathers (please correct me if I’m wrong). While I’m not a huge fan of vanes aesthetically, the do seem to be a good choice in terms of durability and water resistance (I live in Scandinavia and it rains A LOT).

Will an elevated rest work properly with the bow canted? If so is there any that are better suited for this?
After quite a bit of consideration, I have decided to get either a Samick Sage or Polaris. It seems like the shelf on these is not cut very far beyond centre. Would this cause the common stick on rests to be placed to far to the left? Would something like the Cartel CR-201 or CR-301 be a better choice? They seem to place the arrow closer to centre.

Finally, would a plunger be a useful addition to any of these options?

A lot of noob questions I know, but I wan’t to get it right in as few tries as possible. And it’s better to learn from others’ knowledge than your own mistakes.

PVC bow rest height

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’m making a couple of PVC bows for bowfishing and was wondering where the rest should be located. Is it best for the arrow to go through the center of the bow? Or would it be better if the top of my hand, where the most pressure on the grip is, was at the center of the bow? The second would make the bow more balanced when drawing I assume. From a physics standpoint the first we seems right though. Does the arrow usually pass through the center of the bow on compounds, longbows and recurves because that would probably answer my question also? Thanks

Martin Springy Arrow Rest

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have a old Martin Cougar II and love it. I really got use to the springy rest that was on it and am now in need of a new one. I looked all over and it looks like they are discontinued and impossible to find. The only one I could find was a company in Australia and they do not ship outside the country. Anyone happen to have seen these things anywhere or know where I could find one?

I am in the process of trying to make my own out of a Saxophone spring and a bolt from the hardware store. I will post some pictures when I am done, but any help finding one would be much appreciated.
