Outsert on rest? #archery

I just invested a bunch of money on a dozen new arrows for this year (Gold Tip, Kinetic pierce platinum, with Ethics Archery insert/outsert system) because I Im getting serious about archery again after a shot time away. Well… After shooting for a while I decided it is time to look at upgrading the bow too, in large part because the more I shoot it the more I realize my current draw length is too short. Part of what I’m dreading is having to scrap the arrows I just built because they may be too short with the increased draw length and the amount of shaft the outserts take up. They are put together with "Iron Insert Glue" so I don’t think they are coming back apart.

I’m also thinking of switching from a drop away to a whisker biscuit with the switch. This got me to thinking does anyone run their outserts onto/into their rest? If a drop away falls in the first few inches of release could you start the release on an outsert on the rest? As the rest fell while the arrow was moving forward wouldn’t the taper of the outsert just help get the clearance between the shaft and rest faster? Or if using a whisker biscuit of the outsert centered in the hole as the arrow moved forward there would be plenty of clearance between the shaft and the whiskers (obviously the fletching would still contact the rest).

I know I probably just need to suck it up and get new shafts, but this had me thinking. Any thoughts?

What rest should I use? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am ordering a new Triax this week or next. I have only ever used a whisker biscuit on all my past bows. Just trying to get some opinions on what rest I should put on the Triax. I only hunt. I do not do a lot of walking around. Mainly hunt out of a ladder stand, or occasionally a ground blind.

What should rest should I consider, and why?

Rest In Peace burned bows and fellows #archery

Hello, I have been a member of this site for years but this is a new account. I relied on the cache on my devices and a log that I kept in my file cabinet which held various passwords and email accounts. All of that and my bows are gone, I lived in Coffey Park, part of Santa Rosa Ca, which is history.
Although I greav for my neighbors lives and their losses along as mine. I seek no pity here, I am just "getting back on the saddle."
I went fishing last week, in a few weeks I will be hunting again thanks to great friends that I have who will take me out and use their gear on their land.
It’s been quite a ride, I’m glad to be back on this forum. I am in the market for a bow, my wife will kill me if I spend too much right now but that’s like the same old game of cat and mouse-nothing’s changed in that department?.

Adjustable rest pin configuration #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am going to buy a new adjustable sight next week. I have shoot a 5 pin non-adjustable for the last 3 years.

I see many pin configurations on the adjustable sights.

Please convince me on why I should choose a 1,2,3,4 or 5 pin adjustable sight.

I am currently leaning towards a 5 pin as that Is that I am used to.

I am a western hunter focusing on Elk and mule deer.

Old bow string , for a limb driven rest ? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I made a cord today for my limb driven rest out of old bow string. It seems to hold pretty good but I am not convinced it will work long. Has anyone else done this , how did it last ?

If you’re NOT using a drop-away rest….. #archery

What are you using? I’ve tried several drop-aways and they work fine but I’m not sure I’ve gained much from a practical standpoint over a whisker biscuit or nap 360.
