Ring Finger and back tension release

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have a HBC and a Longhorn Pro BT releases. Everything works great when my hands are dry. When its hot and humid my hands sweat and I have a problem with my ring finger sliding bye my middle finger. I have tried all sorts of things. I have put slippery tape on my fingers and that even made it worse. Tried baby powder and that works somewhat if i put some on before every other shot. Latest thing was to use some lip bomb grease and rub some on before shots. The grease works but what a pain to deal with. Besides that it ends up getting on my other fingers and then I feel like the release could actually slip off my trigger finger holding the BT release. I could go to a thumb release or trigger wrist strap release but i sure shoot the BT style better. The condition is a bit worse with the HBC over the longhorn . When the ring finger won’t naturally go bye the middle finger i have to force it a bit which in turn prematurally sets the release off on a occasion. Can’t have this for sure. Any one ever have this problem?????

Scott Release Mod

Thought I’d post a Scott wrist release mod I did to help reduce the noise it made when the aluminum stem flopped back and forth when hunting. It turned out to be pretty simple and eliminated the nose associated with the two metal parts clanking together. Here’s some pic’s to help describe the process.

The first step is to remove the roll pin connecting the strap to the stem of the release. A hammer and punch will get the job done. I then used a dremel and a small cut off wheel to cut a small grove along the front edge of the steel connector where the aluminum stem contacts the steel connector.

I then cleaned up the grove with a small 1/8′ round file.

I cut a small O-ring and attached one side of the O-ring with super glue, held in place with some tape. Repeat on the other side.

Here’s a shot of the O-ring trimmed up and ready to be reassembled.

Here’s the final product. Hope this helps someone.

Best back tension release to start out on?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey guys I just made my account mainly to sell my bow but after looking through the forums for hours im glad I made the account. I’ve only been shooting for a year now and now have a 2015 PSE Decree (which will be for sale soon) and I recently discovered the concept of back tension and it’s seems so hard to do on my caliper release. I was wondering on your guys’ input on a good back tension release to start out on. Thanks guys!

My New Elite Energy 35 – For Finger Release

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Picked up my new Elite Energy 35 this afternoon.

Really sweet bow!

Have been hanging onto an NOS NAP Plungerest Flipper, which fits perfectly. Waiting for my sight to arrive so I can finish setting this up with the Tight Spot quiver.

Set it to 55lbs and got the rest set. Took it to the back yard and fired a few arrows at 12 yards or so…. no sights, bare fingers, and my old XX75 2213s @29.5"…. this thing is going to be GREAT! Looking forward to getting sights and a peep mounted!

Going from wrist strap trigger type release, to thumb release and back.

Does anyone here use both types of release with their bow, and if so, what adjustments did you make.

I use a Cobra Pro Caliper for hunting, but would like to use a Truball Absolute for 3D and target practice. However, it results in a lowr anchor point and i feel like I will need to raise the peep slightly and adjust the sights accordingly. Is that common?

Best Hinge/tension release to start with?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

i am looking to get a hinge release, and want to know what is the best one to get for a newbie. One that works well, and won’t break the bank. I don’t want to spend a great deal until I know it works for me.
