What release does Ted Nugent use? I have seen them before but can’t remember the name. I think it’s a caliper style .

Hello All
The plunger hinge head release came to day.
The tool and die guy done a great job in my humble opinion.
The plunger shaft is now straight with the hole.

He added 2 stronger springs . Added my design pressure plunger end. To adapt to the guide rod and plunger rod. Using nice set screws. Sure must be nice to have the tools and know how. Oh yes I have shot with it all ready. 😉 Enjoy [ Later

back tension with a standard trigger release

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am trying to improve my shooting and get over my target panic.

There is so many articles and videos out now covering back tension and target panic, it is hard to get clear information as they all seem a little different. Or have their own idea of how to do things.

I watched one video showing how to shoot back tension with a regular trigger release. He explained that using the tip of your finger to physically pull the trigger is wrong. You are supposed to put your finger over the trigger and hold stationary to allow your back tension to force the trigger to go off. He made it look easy, and looked like it was a great way to shoot.
I can’t seem to get this technique down.

I would rather stick with my trigger release than spend money on a new release.

Any good one stop resources to stick with when learning back tension with a standard release to help get over target panic?

3-Finger or 4-Finger Release

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Just wanted to poll those using hand-held release aids. Do you use a 3-finger or a 4-finger hand-held release and why?

Cheers!

Trigger release form

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey guys, just wanted to get some input if my form is ok.

I’m using a Trufire hardcore finger release, and recently realized that by putting both my index and middle finger on the trigger and pulling back slowly, I have been more accurate and less likely to punch the trigger than using my index finger alone.
I’m wondering if this is ‘correct’ or a common method, to be using the middle finger as well, as I feel more stable in the shot.

Also, any opinions if I should dabble with a thumb or other release aid as well?

Thanks

I finally got my releases back from Scott they were replaced with new stock they call it new and improved. I got both Red/Black and Camo/Black.
I had a problem with the release giving 1/2 way through the draw. I haven’t been able to draw and shoot my bow since March 15th feels really great to let arrows fly again. I haven’t done any adjusting seems to be set just right out of the package. I need to get my muscles back in tone I caught a cramp in my bicep on my second shot opening day 134 days away.

Ring Finger and back tension release

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have a HBC and a Longhorn Pro BT releases. Everything works great when my hands are dry. When its hot and humid my hands sweat and I have a problem with my ring finger sliding bye my middle finger. I have tried all sorts of things. I have put slippery tape on my fingers and that even made it worse. Tried baby powder and that works somewhat if i put some on before every other shot. Latest thing was to use some lip bomb grease and rub some on before shots. The grease works but what a pain to deal with. Besides that it ends up getting on my other fingers and then I feel like the release could actually slip off my trigger finger holding the BT release. I could go to a thumb release or trigger wrist strap release but i sure shoot the BT style better. The condition is a bit worse with the HBC over the longhorn . When the ring finger won’t naturally go bye the middle finger i have to force it a bit which in turn prematurally sets the release off on a occasion. Can’t have this for sure. Any one ever have this problem?????

Scott Release Mod

Thought I’d post a Scott wrist release mod I did to help reduce the noise it made when the aluminum stem flopped back and forth when hunting. It turned out to be pretty simple and eliminated the nose associated with the two metal parts clanking together. Here’s some pic’s to help describe the process.

The first step is to remove the roll pin connecting the strap to the stem of the release. A hammer and punch will get the job done. I then used a dremel and a small cut off wheel to cut a small grove along the front edge of the steel connector where the aluminum stem contacts the steel connector.

I then cleaned up the grove with a small 1/8′ round file.

I cut a small O-ring and attached one side of the O-ring with super glue, held in place with some tape. Repeat on the other side.

Here’s a shot of the O-ring trimmed up and ready to be reassembled.

Here’s the final product. Hope this helps someone.
