Release type effect on drawl length #archery

I am considering to change from a wrist strap trigger to a back tension (longhorn or similar no strap). Would this potentially change my effective draw length? Thanks

Thumb release with long neck #archery

I’m looking for a new release that is similar in size (i.e. that will allow for the same anchor point with my current bow). I’d like a 3 finger release (instead of the 4 finger version I currently have) and would like one with a cleaner, more crisp trigger break. I took a photo and it looks like this distance on my current Tru Ball release is around 2 1/4” from where your fingers hold the release to where the string is held. Any recommendations? Thanks

Issue with Cabelas wrist release #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I purchased a Cabela’s Marksman wrist release last January and after about a months worth of indoor use, it developed an audible clicking noise when actuating the release. I asked one of the archery techs about it the next time I was in the store and they said to just give it a little bit of gun oil and that should take care of it. I went home and oiled it, but the click remained. I decided to not make a big deal out of it and let it be as it was hardly noticeable.

After using the release this season, the clicking has gotten substantially worse. I went to a local shop yesterday to demo some new bows and it was to the point where the release was not closing all the way unless I forced the trigger all the way forward and kept pressure on it. It even got so bad that the release slipped off the D-loop once as I began my draw, which resulted in an arrow going forward about three feet. This happened again with my newly purchased bow right after I left the shop and went to the range… I’m now ensuring I force the trigger all the forward when I draw, but I could easily see myself forgetting to do this in a hunting situation with disastrous results.

Can anyone recommend a way to repair this? I’ve tried hitting it with CLP a couple times, but it hasn’t improved anything. When I bought this release it came with Cabela’s lifetime warranty which I doubt they will now honor since BPS took over. Should I try and get them to replace it regardless or should I just eat the cost and go buy a new release?

Thanks for any inputs.

What’s the name of the new release company that was started by some of the Scott family? There was a post about it here but can’t seem to find it.

Hi guys,
Advice is needed. I lost the tension bolt on my Truball absolute360, it’s the bolt for 5/64 hexagon key. What bolt should I look for?

Release question #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi Guys I am an old rifle shooter that has come back to bow hunting after many many years away. I did a good trade on Halon 32 & I am enjoying the bow its a weapon!
At the moment I am using a Carter 2 Shot release its great, but I can see issues stalking with it.
The question I have is what type of release do MOST hunters use?
#1 Wrist strap calliper
#2 Clip on thumb release
#3 something I haven’t considered

Thanks in advance
