Border Question

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have long been interested in Border Hex series limbs

I have a chance to buy some Hex 5’s and was wondering how they compare to the 6’s

I really liked the 6

On a 60 or 62 inch bow what would you suggest for brace height for the 5’s and the 6’s

Buy the time I decide they will probable be gone 🙂

Offset fletching question

Can you give me the pros and cons with using offset 2" blazer vanes? I have a local guy pushing me to try some but I’ve never used them before. He swears by the accuracy, especially at long distances, even in windy conditions.

If you do use them, how offset are your vanes? I don’t know exactly, but I’m trying to picture his, they appeared to be anywhere from 3/4 to a full inch offset from one another.

Release question

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I’ve bought my 13yr. old boy a PSE stinger. It’s been dropped down to about 30 lbs.. His rhomboid muscles are just starting to get developed. It took a session, until he could pull back a few dozen times.
So, the Stinger came with a True-Fire Hurricane Release, and it’s extremely difficult to pull back. Therefore, finger release is being used.

Would anybody at this point recommend a backtension release, or should he stick with fingers for now?

Question:

Any recommendations for for back tension releases? Price range $ 75-$ 100?
It’s primarily indoors for now.

Tree Buddy question…

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey guys,

I’m thinking of maybe getting a Tree Buddy. Who has used it and what do you like/dislike about it? I plan on doing mostly public land hunting, so the thought of being able to leave the tree buddy in a tree (locked, of course) and take my stand in and out with me seems pretty appealing. At this point in time, I don’t have various places to hunt, so I would most likely leave the tree buddy in the tree. What opinions do you guys have on the tree buddy? Thanks!

To fletch or not to fletch… that’s my question

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My son has had a couple of fletches (?) come off his arrow, so I’m debated how to fix this. I’ve looked at the NAP Quikfletch, and even searched it here and saw mostly good reviews. But they aren’t cheap. I’ve also looked at fletching jigs, thinking of using one of these.

When I started fly fishing, I just had to know how flies were tied, and now I tie all my own flies. I have a sneaking hunch that I’ll be this way with arrow building. I love to tinker with stuff.

I don’t have my own bow yet, but that will be fixed in a few weeks. Should I just use the NAP quikfletch, or fletch my own? What are the recommended jigs? Is this really as easy as putting an arrow in the jig and gluing a fletch on? Is there more too it, like making sure fletchings are aligned with the stiffness of spine (like adding ferrules on a fly rod)?

TT Smack Down FC Pro rest question or help

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I just put on a TT smack down pro and it’s noisy to me and I have read so many posts saying they are quiet. What are guys doing to get this quiet? I want suggestions or help. It went on and tuned without a hitch. I have the cable on the lower limb and there is no slack, if anything too taunt. I have had the QAD and other fall away rests on my other bows and I expected this one to be quiet like its reputation.

Thanks for the help you can gives this ole bowhunter.

Adding weight to CB inserts for ICS bowhunter 500’s QUESTION

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Howdy-
I’ve got a friend who’s son uses ICS bowhunter 500’s and needs to do a science project on arrow penetration.

He’s testing penetration differences based on arrow weight, and needs the arrow from tip to tail to stay the same length.

The plan is to use a 75 grain tip on 3 different arrows and use insert weights to change arrow weight without changing overall length.

What would be best is an insert weight of 20 to 25 grains and another that totals around 50 grains.

Has anyone found a good system for CB inserts?

I found these on 3 Rivers-

and

http://www.3riversarchery.com/pdp+we…_baseitem.html

that need this adapter-

Anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks!
