Cam timing issues… need some advice/help please

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Ok i am in the process of trying to get my cams in time on a diamond infinite edge. I have the cams in time now but the cables have quite a bit more tension on them than they did when i started due to having to twist them. My problem is that it is putting a bit too much pressure on the cable slide and it is causing it to grip it and drag across the slide making a bit of noise and making for a not so smooth draw. Should i try and rleave equal amounts of twist in each cable until it relieves enough pressure to stop the drag or how should i approach this to keep my cams in time but eliminate the drag on the cable slide. thanks in advance to any and all help.

Form Critique Please

First of all, thanks to all the experienced archers who take the time to help out us beginners.

I’ve been shooting for about 2 months and although I’m pretty satisfied with my progress, I want to be sure there are no major issues with my setup. At the suggestion of a couple of local club members I recently increased my draw length by 1 inch to 29.5".

My shooting is done in the backyard with hopes to get proficient enough to shoot spots by the Fall indoor season. I can generally put the arrows inside a 4 inch circle from 20 yards and inside 6 inches from 30. I know there’s a lot of work to do and my concentration lately has been trying to break the habit of "punching the trigger".

Getting the right arrows, such a daunting task. Please help?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hi,

I’m new to the forums, but I’ve been shooting targets for a while with a borrowed old school compound bow and arrows that I received as a gift.

I did a lot of research before posting the thread, so I hope that helps.

My calculated draw length: 26.7" —>27"?

For target shooting, I just purchased a right handed Martin Saber recurve bow at 30lbs, AMO length: 64". It will arrive this weekend. I will be shooting with an arrow rest and installing a flemish 18 strand bow string from seller jdhunts on e*Bay. I have a couple of used Easton Jazz arrows in various sizes (buddy with a metal detector gave them to me) that I think might work well with it, but I’d like get some nicer arrows.

The closest archery shop is well out of town, so I’ll be ordering from Lancaster Archery Supply. The daunting part it knowing what size/weight/length arrow shaft, vanes, nocks, and points to buy and how to attach the vanes correctly.

I was looking at the Easton XX75 Platinum Plus arrows. It looks like I’ll need 1716 shafts. Can someone please confirm this?

Should I cut them to 28" or leave them at 29"???

Are there any good carbon arrows I should consider?

I heard you can custom order the arrows from Lancaster. What do they charge for that?

SD Card Issue… Please Help!!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I am not sure this is the correct section, but since it has to do with bowhunting I thought I would put it here.

A few months ago I bought an adapter so I could view pics or video in the field on my phone. It seems to mess up the SD card anytime I try to use it. This weekend I drove to a property 2 hours away to do a bit of shed hunting (no luck) and to check my camera. I have a Bushnell Trophy Cam. The batteries were dead, but after putting new batteries in the camera it showed the SD card had around 560 video clips. I turned the camera off and removed the SD card and put a formatted SD card back in the camera. I tried to use the SD card adapter with my phone and no luck. I thought no big deal. I will just view them on my laptop when I get home. I got home and inserted the SD card in my laptop and it showed the disk drive, but when I tried to double click it nothing happens. I just get a little circle spinning and then it says… No disk in the E: Drive found. Please insert disk. I try removing it and putting it back in. Sometimes on the my computer page it just shows FT Drive and sometimes it shows 10.1 GB of 14.9GB Free.

I am thinking the SD card is now corrupted. It won’t even allow me to right click and format the card. I thought maybe some of you that are more computer and technically savy than myself might be able to lend some insight on possible solutions? I really want to be able to get the videos off the camera. I know that there were some big bucks that walked through the area. Any help is greatly appreciated.

New Vintage Bow? Need info please

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hey guys I am new to this site so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have and love my Fred bear compound bow which I use for hunting. This past weekend I bought a "vintage" fiberglass bow at a resale shop. Their are no markings on the bow and no string. Since this is my first recurve I was doing research on what type and length of string I needed. I realized my bow does not have string notches. Is this common in older bows? Do I have a bow I can’t use? Can anyone help please.

Thanks,
Daniel

Arrow suggestions please

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Time for some new arrows, been pondering on the GT5575s or maybe Bemans ICS400, not that either is written in stone but from what I’ve dug up & read both brands are a good all around arrow, but am curious what ya’ll might have to say or suggest.

My bows are a 50# & 55# recurves, draw is 28 on the money, right now I’m shooting a 125 gr broadhead but will be switching to something at least in the 175-200ish range this year, like me some small game hunting as well as deer, also a big fan of stump shooting.

Any suggestions ??

FYI:
After glassing up a muley buck from a mile and a half out, making a perfect stock , having him broadside at 41 yards, having him looking away from you IS NOT THE TIME to realize you left your release sitting in the truck!! Yep that sucked. Deer 1 Me 0
