Basically what the title suggests, when you’re going to be glassing a lot is it worth it to bump to the viper quality in the vortex line or are the diamondbacks sufficient enough?

Ok so after work I plan on going over to where I hunt during the fall to clear out the coyote population. Suckers are everywhere over there. Problem is I never see them during the summer months. So, it is a rather hot one today. I was debating on sitting about 200 yards away from the pond where everything on the property drinks from. Hopefully, I’ll get to see some deer, too. I’d be using my AR15, back against a hedgerow with my ASAT, and the wind would be in my face. Excellent wind today. Anybody have any luck with hunting over water for coyotes? Don’t have a distress call so never tried that. I can’t say I’ve actually gone out trying to hunt these fawn killers, but I’m going to give it a go. I’d use the bow but uh even Cam would have accuracy issues that far. 😀 Any suggestions?

Completely new to Archery so please forgive my lack of knowledge.
I have recently bought a second hand recurve bow after completing a 6 week introduction course and then joining a club.
The bow is a SF Premium + riser at 25" and SF premium limbs at 26Lb giving me a 66" bow. This was a recommended beginners bow with low poundage initially while i learn to shoot correctly.
My question is one of brace height… i have bought a cheap string from Merlin Archery recommended for a 66" bow but when i assemble the bow and measure the brace height the distance is 9.5 inches.
The recommended brace height for my limbs is 8 – 8.5" so my question is how can i reduce the brace height?
I had twisted the string 5 full twists initially prior to measuring and i have not looked at the limb bolts as yet. i thought i would ask first but the limb bolts do seem to be wound out a fair distance giving about 5-8mm of play when the bow in un-strung.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Recently my buddy had some trouble getting good arrow flight with his broad heads. Our local dealer recommended trying the broad head on a new arrow shaft. Same brand, same size and length, same everything but one arrow had seen many years of target shooting and the other was new. The new arrow corrected the problem but I’m wondering why. Has anyone noticed a problem with carbon arrows after thousands of shots. A loss of spine or consistency?
Thanks for any insight.

Why don’t over spined arrows fly well? I would think that an arrow that doesn’t flex would fly better assuming that the nock point on the string and the rest are set properly.

Wondering how my fellow middle age bowhunters are grouping you arrows since you have got in your mid to late fifties !!! I have been shooting since 1977 and a avid bowhunter but my groups have spread since I have reached my fifties. I shoot about 6 to 10" groups at 30 and 40 yds now with several fliers here and there.. Still good enough for deer but not like I shot 20 to 30 yrs ago >>
