Hoyt Limb Question #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello all,

I have a 2016 hoyt defiant 34 and I am looking to get some 70 or even 80 lb limbs. I have noticed different limbs have different deflections and other things, I was wondering what deflection I would need. Also can I use limbs from a pro defiant or a carbon defiant? I am sorry if this is a stupid question, I don’t have a whole lot of experience with archery equipment and was hoping for some insight.

Thanks,

Justin

Tiller (limb tension) to adjust up/down paper tear #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi all !
Got a Bear Cruze G2 for my wife and I was tuning it this morning..

Paper tuning left/right was good…but got a nasty nock high tear ! Tried to lift rest and move down nock point but only got semi-good result (1/2in tear) with an extreme arrow angle..
Clearance should not be a big factor since the rest is a biscuit…

Then I decided to reset rest and nock point to get them square with button hole and screwed in the bottom limb. After 1.5 turn in, I got almost perfect bullet hole….but there is a difference of 1.5 turn between the to limb bolt..

Do you think, since the Bear cruizer is not really a "high quality" bow, that the top and bottom limbs resistance had enough difference to cause this large nock high tear ?

Golden Eagle Limb Mishap #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am a Golden Eagle Archery bow collector and started shooting them back in 1984. A few days ago I was shooting a 1986 Falcon cam bow with recurved limbs. I had not shot this bow but just a few shots prior to this and was getting it ready for deer season. I had fired 23 shots and was getting ready to nock my last arrow when I heard a "snap". I looked at the upper limb and on one side of where the cam is the lamination split down the limb about four inches. Thankfully it was in a relaxed position when it happened.

Anyway, I was pretty sick about it because I was really looking forward to hunting with this bow this year. I have another Falcon cam bow with strait limbs that I’ll probably get ready to use. But, I found someone on ebay that has a pair of limbs that are marked as Falcons! I have two questions though that I need help with. When I took apart my damaged limb there was a red sticker underneath that listed the manufacture date and also another number above the date. One limb had the number 242.5 and the other limb had the number 241.5. I’m just wondering what these numbers mean.

Also, each of my limbs have a pair of holes that a separate plastic piece with knobs that fits in the rise align with. The limbs that are on ebay have 2 pair of those holes per limb. I’ve tried to get the seller to take a couple measurments for me to make sure they will fit but can’t get a good response from them.

So, I’m looking for someone knowledgeable about GE bows who can tell me what the numbers mean, if they have to match the numbers on the limbs on ebay, and why there are two alignment holes on mine and four on the ebay set. I can see on the set on ebay that they are also dated as being made in 1986, the same as mine, so that’s encouraging.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I’d love to rebuild this bow and continue to use it if possible.

Elite Limb identification (deflection numbers) #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I recently ordered some replacement limbs for my 2013 Elite Pure. The new limbs I received does not have any other markings, other than ‘V 93’ written on them. I presume the V 93, written with a white marker pen, refer to the sub-deflection numbers. With no deflection numbers printed/stamped/engraved, as with the original limbs, how would one identify what limbs they are in future?

Old bow string , for a limb driven rest ? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I made a cord today for my limb driven rest out of old bow string. It seems to hold pretty good but I am not convinced it will work long. Has anyone else done this , how did it last ?

Need some help from a limb guru #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

As some of you may know, i’m in the process of fitting a Carbon Spyder turbo zt to fit me. I needed to know if first, XT1000 pro series limbs will work on the bow and second what the lbs would with 88 deflection on a size two cam. I’ve emailed Hoyt multiple times but to no avail. Please if someone could help me out, i’d be much obliged.
