North Texas or Oklahoma hog hunt.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I am looking for a bit of a last minute hunt for my wife and I. We have all the week days in March available and looking for an outfitter or just a regular hunter who has an abundance of hogs. Willing to pay for access or per hog. Preferably have feeders set up and hogs coming during daylight hours. We are excellent hunters and would like a more fair chase hunt then a high fence operation.

How would you hunt this thick wooded mountainous property?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

A family member recently bought this house on a piece of land a little less than 200 acres in upstate New York and gave me permission to hunt it.

The lack of obvious hunting spots based off the topos is giving me a bit of trouble trying to figure out how I should hunt it.

The entire property is pretty thick hard woods, mix of pines, oaks, etc…The bottom edge of the property borders a road and reservoir. The roads that are on the map in the middle of the property are not there in real life.. must be some sort of map error. The left half of the property is a pretty steep mountain face- not too steep to walk, but a pretty serious incline. There are about 4 or 5 well cleared but unused logging trails that run across flat ridges that are parallel to the main road-these logging trails are spaced pretty evenly from bottom to top. To the direct left of the property is a small farm with 8-10 apple trees that the deer feed on in night. Above the house, a power line runs through the woods- this is the only spot on the property that a deer has been taken thus far(Two decent 8 pointers, two consecutive years).

Upon first glance of these terrain maps, does anyone see some potential areas to further investigate. Is topographic analysis even useful on a property like this? Or in general, have any tips to hunt thick mountainous woods like this?

All inclusive bear hunt near Iowa

I was wondering if anyone has been to an all inclusive bear hunting camp/lodge? I am interested in booking a hunt for black bear as close to Iowa as possible, because that’s where I live. I would like to know if anyone has done this and give me feedback on where to go(what lodge), pricing(for how many days of hunting), information(websites), and experience(was it worth it). Thanks in advance guys. I’m hoping to book for fall of 2016.

Late Season Missouri Hunt

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I will be heading up to Missouri on 1/3/16 to make my first late season hunt in the Midwest. I have some experience hunting public land here in Lousisana, but i know this will be very differnt. We will be hunting the Mark Twain National Forrest the Cedar Creek area near Columbia, MO.

Does anyone have any experience with this piece of property? Also, i have been reading some late season threads and know that it is important to find the food. Are there any grain fields on the National Forrest itself? It appears that there are fields, but i cannot tell what type from the satellite images. I am trying to get as much ground work done as I can before we get there in an attempt to locate the deer movement within the first day or so.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Live Action! Oklahoma Deer Hunt 2015!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Good afternoon all! It’s Mid-November here in NE Oklahoma and i have put in for a week of Vacation Nov. 22-29. This falls directly on the first week of Oklahoma’s Deer Gun Season to which i Have decided i will be BOW Hunting during that time!!! Some may say that is bad timing, but i have noticed over the years that there is still a lot of Mature Buck activity during those days on my property. The last 8-9 years have provided me at least one chance at a 140-160 buck. I believe this trend will continue as i have not seen any mature deer movement the last two weeks, only young bucks going crazy.

I’ve done a thread like this before and it was a blessing and i hope others will find it a blessing as well. Come along for the ride if you’d like! Ask questions, give input, share your stories!!!! I love archer to archer interaction on these threads!

Before i share a little about myself and the land i hunt, i want to Give Praise and Honor to My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for forgiving me of my sins and giving me Eternal life! He is my everything and my all in all. I was burdened with the guilt of my sin for years and Christ showered me with His love and mercy and took all of my sin and burdens. Hallelujah! Jesus Christ didn’t come into the World to Condemn the World, He came to Give Eternal Life and Peace with God. Blessed be the Name of our Lord!

God has also blessed me with my Wife (of 10 years) and Three Kids (and one on the way!) I have a job and a home and for that i am sooo thankful!

I am a Full time Pastor as well as having a Secular Job. Our Ministry is Gospel Focused, Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. We Teach By Grace Alone Through Faith alone in Christ Alone! We also teach Holy Living for Born again Children of God through the Teaching and Study of The Holy Word of God (Just in case anyone was wondering!)

OK…some info about me and the land i hunt…

I will have pics and maps up here in the next couple of days so if you have any questions or want to see something i will do my best to provide you with it here.

I am 31 and originally from The East Coast…I got into deer hunting because of my father-in-law about 8 years ago. I started with ML and went to Rifle and then about 3 years ago i tried bow hunting and i got hooked! I mostly hunt with my bow (Will have info on that later)

I have killed some decent deer and have missed opportunities on some monsters. Regardless of the outcome of the hunt, i am just sooooo blessed to have this opportunity, the land, the ability, the supportive wife and kids.

I hunt around 300 acres of wooded ridges, bottoms, and open fields. It is all private. It is family land and i am so thankful to be hunting it.

I have around 8 different sets that i would like to try…

The weather is suppose to drop into the 50’s for a high on Saturday and the lows in the 30’s. This part of OK hasn’t experienced those type of Temps so i fully expect to see some deer move that i haven’t seen yet.

I FINALLY decided to invest in some cameras and i put them out last weekend and i will check them the first day of the hunt and give you guys an update on some creatures roaming the land.

Please feel free to chime in and ask questions or give suggestions.

My prayer is that this thread is a time of good fellowship..i hope you guys enjoy the ride…May God get all the Glory!

Some bucks on my wall…

I got permission to hunt this really good land. west side of creek is public and I am the only one who has permission to hunt east side. Can you all give me your advice of where to hunt on this land and when? I don’t want to go in in the dark and risk blowing them out of the field. Or is there a way in where I don’t have to worry? I need all the help I can get.mound.jpg
