She just started today. Got her on a diamond razor edge. 27 in draw if I take it to 26.5 it’s to short for her. I am on my commander at 31.5

Recommended form?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey all, I’m relatively new to archery. About 4 years ago I had an old longbow that didn’t even have a brand on it, so I’m not sure where it came from. It was a birthday present from a friend. I shot it for about 4 months, then I lost said bow to an undesirable I used to call brother, but my point is I just bought a recurve, and I’m re-learning from the ground up. Any tips on recommended form, and is the Archery Australia Approved Shooting Technique a good reference?

Trigger release form

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey guys, just wanted to get some input if my form is ok.

I’m using a Trufire hardcore finger release, and recently realized that by putting both my index and middle finger on the trigger and pulling back slowly, I have been more accurate and less likely to punch the trigger than using my index finger alone.
I’m wondering if this is ‘correct’ or a common method, to be using the middle finger as well, as I feel more stable in the shot.

Also, any opinions if I should dabble with a thumb or other release aid as well?

Thanks

Form, Float, Drills, & More Video Series

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My second video in my Instructional Video Series is now up on Vimeo. This video goes over finding correct bow arm positioning, measuring for draw length, setting perfect draw length and loop length with specific drills, setting stance, reading targets, studying float, and how to keep records to help in slumps.

There’s a lot of information in this video and it is just under 1 hour and 20 minutes long. For twice the length of my prior video, it is still only $ 15 to purchase. There’s a trailer to view before purchasing through my vimeo site and I will be uploading to YouTube my trailer as well.

This is a great video for anyone just starting out that is unsure of what draw length to be, as well as the archer looking to get to the next level by fine tuning their form and learning how to read their float and targets.

You can go to my main webpage and look under the Instructional Video Series tab to find the link to my main Vimeo page. This will take you to both videos I’ve posted and allow you to look at trailers for each and purchase them as well. https://rcrchery.wordpress.com/

The next video will be over bow tuning. I’ll be going over loop placement for different holds, paper tuning, bareshaft tuning, walk back tuning, group tuning, stabilizer set up, sight set up, and more in it. I’m still filming portions of it because I’m having to film outside and needing good weather days. I’m looking to have the tuning video out within the next two weeks, if not sooner.

Thanks again for the purchases and the support! It’s helping me continue to put out videos and reviews that I’ll have coming up soon on my YouTube channel.

Form Check

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

All,

This is my third year (second season) into bow hunting. To address issues with poor accuracy that have seemingly randomly come and gone, I’ve spent some considerable time this winter trying to get my bow tuned and trying to improve my form (because my form was / is the bulk of the problem).

Id appreciate it if folks could take a look and let me know what they see. I have some ideas for areas to improve on – but, I’d like to see if others see the same things I do.

This is me with my natural stance (without trying to focus on any particular modification). I drew a yellow line from my belt buckle directly upward, a blue line from my nock directly upward, and a red line from my elbow through my nock.

This is me making a special effort to not lean slightly back. (same line colors and meanings)

Here are a few pictures of my elbow and alignment.

Apparently, I can only post 5 images per post. So, page 2 to come…
