Another week I think we should be getting a lot bigger deer and more daytime photos

Unfortunately the taxidermist had to cut the neck a little short, but he still looks pretty good.

Was at Cabela’s for over an hour sitting there looking at Avian’s, DSD’s, and Dakota’s. DSD’s just stood out above the rest and that’s what I want to go with. So the question is now, which ones?

I’ve used decoys a little during my turkey hunting career, but not enough to really distinguish what "setup" works best. But from everything that I HAVE seen and read, Tom’s don’t really care about hens once they see a jake decoy. So would it even be worth sinking money into a hen or two? Scheels has the DSD breeding pair on sale for $ 219, but I think the sitting hen would be about useless with how low it sits. Cabela’s had the DSD flock for $ 479…so thats another option.

Suggestions? Whatever money I save will probably go to other hunting gear anyway lol

Anyway my cousin brought a Diamond infinite edge over for me to set up ,at my leisure.
im not sure what it was set on but it was up there at first and i was scared to pull it back it did not want to even start to come back.
so i backed it way off to where i could draw it easily with no to very little discomfort.
i put a scale on it and it was at 43 lbs.

i am very excited about shooting again. as soon as i work my way up to 50 lbs. i plan to pick up a used 50/60 V-39 .
it may not sound like a big deal to some. but the folks that’s had rotator cuff surgery will understand.
i am just really happy and wanted to share with my AT friends
