The kid has been going out with his dad for several years, now.
Tonight, he finally had a shot at something with the kid in the blind.

For a 6 year old doing the filming… not bad.

I am want to film my own hunting so i can see what kind of a hit or a miss i made.i spend a lot of time looking for my arrow, and passing up other animals because i am not sure of a hit. I have been looking at germin virb,i seen them used on a few hunting shows.i don’t know anything about what would work best.i like the idea of a helmet mount due to the terrain i hunt on and also want something budget friendly.any one with info that i can use? Thanks.

Filming Question

For those using a external mic, do you turn the mic on when you get it set up and leave it on or do you turn it on when you are going to film? I am trying to decide what mic to get for a Panny GH3 (mirrorless). I am looking at the Shure VP83. Do you use the mics gain to increase the sound so you can turn down the cameras gain and get less interference?

If your mic has a +20 dB gain control do you use it to increase the sound so you can turn down the cameras gain and get less interference?

OR – I’ve read that mics with XLR outputs are of better quality and can get a XLR to 3.5 mm jack to input to camera.

Basically I just want a good mic and to not hear the camera/lens operation in the audio. Is this too much to ask for?

Any video/audiophiles out there?
