Fast eddie xl vs hha Kingpin #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hey guys, I am making the switch to a single pin. I [U]think[U] I have narrowed it down to either the kingpin or the fast eddie since they are about the same price. I really like the dovetail but would love some opinions. I do mainly hunting but want to eventually dial that bow on out a little farther.

How do the two compare? Does anybody have experience with both of them or either of them? Im buying myself a little christmas gift. I know this question has been asked a million times and will be asked again in the future but i have yet to see the two compared.
Thanks!

Poll on requests for a SpotHogg Fast Eddie XL Carring Case #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Didn’t know just where to post this due to all kids on this site so here it is.

If any of you who bought the new 2017 model Fast Eddie XLs have thought about
a traveling case like the Hogg Father comes with, it turns out there is none yet.
The new bar on FE xl is longer than the HF so the HF case wont work.

Thought I would post a poll to get some numbers to send to Spot Hogg for
requests for a hard plastic traveling case to offer the bow hunting side of
Spot hog shooters.

Fast Eddie XL bow hunters cast your vote.

Spot Hogg Fast Eddie vs HHA Ultra XL

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I have an HHA Optimizer Ultra XL (the wheel and the large sight guard), but I have been looking at the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie and wondering what everyone prefers.

I’ve been a Spot Hogg fan for several years, and have been very happy with their fixed pin sights. Are there any advantages of the Fast Eddie over the HHA? Can you get it with the large sight guard, or does it only come in one size?

Talk me out of a fast eddie

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So far I only see one thing about this sight I don’t like and that’s only having one option to mount the sight, BUT if it just so happens to line up with the peep then great. Really like the double pin feature and the larger OD of the 3 ring scope cuz I like to shoot a 1/4" peep, but have been using a 3/16 the past couple years to line up with a 1.75" housing.

Bought an apex covert after I sold my Tommy hogg and I just don’t like it that much to be completely honest.

What is the diameter of cbe single pin scope? Need something from 1 7/8 up to abiut 2 1/4 OD.

if I could get hha to do the cross hair scope in a 2" housing with a .10 pin, I know what sight I’d have. Hell, for hunting I’d even go with the standard .29 pin they use in that scope if they would just put it in a 2" housing for me. No such luck though.

I’m going to rig up one bow just for hunting and try to keep it light as possible and I’m going to rig s backup bow up for 3d and spots.

I have a bt experience but am trying to get s destroyer 340 to rig up too. Don’t know which will be the hunting rig and which will be the target rig.

“Fast Limbs VS Powerful Limbs” (is there a difference?)

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Gentlefolk…this particular topic/thought fell (actually more like "came crashing down" LOL!) upon my oh so abstract mind as I gazed at my new-to-me 1975 Herters recurve….smugly taking in the extreme curvature of it’s heavily bowed and hooked limbs…as by comparison makes my Bear look like Twiggy as there sits Marylyn Monroe….loaded with static tension as just the act of plucking the string to hear the high pitched note it makes produces a smile upon my face…with the 14 strand Flemish string sounding more like taunt fast flight rather than the B50 Dacron it is….as I attempt to decide which hunting arrow to commit too…which at this point I know will either be my .600 spine 29" long beman classics w/ 100gr stingers tipping the scales at 365grs or?…my 30" long .500 spine GT3555′s tipped w/ 175gr Simmons TigerSharks tipping the scales at 435grs…and I’m almost certain I’ll choose the latter but….

In this thought process…and since I don’t currently have access to a chronograph?….my mind begged the question…

I wonder if some bows were designed with an emphasis on power rather than speed….IOW’s?…are there some "fast limb designs" that will whip out a 350gr arrow like nobodies business yet dramatically bog down when nocked up with a 500grainer?….while conversely there may be some "powerful limb designs" that might not whip out a lightweight arrow quite as fast yet exhibit very little differential in nocking up a heavy weight arrow?

To my understanding?….I believe this falls under the realm of a bows "Stored Energy"…which by the sound of things this Herters has gobs of…and would secure my decision making as described above.

Burris Fast Fire

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hey Guys,
I’m seeing a lot of you going to these or a similar set up. I’m wondering if one of these could be used on a compound?
I have a Monster 7 that I still shoot a lot, but in colder weather I go to my 400 SS.
I love shooting the Mathews. Wondering how this would work? Would I still need a peep?
I know this should be over on the vert bow section but I like this spot as my home now…
Any help will be much appreciated.

Best Arrows to use with a whisker bisquit (That don’t wear it out as fast)

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Currently I am shooting PSE Carbon Force Radial X Weave Silent Hunter 200′s and I think they have 125 gr pts not 100% sure w/ 2" blazers. Out of a Bear Charge Set to roughly 60lb (Will be checking with a draw lb puller today) and 27" draw as set on my Cam. I use a D Loop and a Wrist Trigger release. Proline String.

Heres the issue’s:

1) The finish on them doesn’t seem rough but they seem to burn the bottom of the whisker (the black whiskers). Almost like the arrow has slightly abrasive action to the whisker, the arrow diameter is .292.

2)I got them cut when I knew nothing about archery and just bought a used bow, I now am far more comfortable with a 27" draw and not a 26". The arrows were cut to 26 1/2" and at full draw the field point is only at the front of the riser, I believe for safety reasons they should be at least 1" past the riser??

3) These were on the Fast end for 60 lb draw, Thats what I am shooting roughly 60 lb but I want to move into 60-65lb range and think a heavier arrow may be more forgiving.

4)Should I be using straight 2" vanes or helical 2" vanes or should I go to 4" vanes straight or helical. Other than the helical vanes stabilizing the arrows in flight better than straight vanes what is the difference between 2" or 4"?

5) With a whisker bisquit should I be shooting a lower profile vane than a blazer?

Thanks for any help fellas.

Greatly look forward to getting a response.

Tom Compoli
