Anyone use the Buck Rub Gear Magne Drop away rest? Saw it briefly in an ATA review and and it looks interesting. Its like a drop away whisker biscuit in that it holds your arrow completely in place, and then acts like a regular drop away once you draw back.
If anyone has used this rest, let me hear your experiences or thoughts, thanks!

Got my 9 year old shooting a diamond prism. I do not like hostage rest that it came with and want to get her shooting a drop away.
Im also not to big a fan of the plastic sight, what kind of sight works best for new young shooters?
Im looking for suggestions on what will work good on the cheap.
Thanks

I currently have been using mole skin on my QAD drop away, just a single strip that goes up the front, over the arrow resting position, and down the back.
Lots of shooting, shooting/hunting in the rain, etc. has it wear down or start coming apart pretty fast. It is getting old having to reapply it and re-tune again.
I’ve tried drawing an arrow back without anything on the rest and it isn’t acceptable for a quiet draw for hunting.
I’ve read that some are using shrink tube on their drop aways with success and several have said they’ll never use anything else. I’d like to hear from the folks that are using it, if it is quiet, how well it holds up, and how they apply it. On the applying it part, I’m having trouble envisioning how it would go on over the forks? Do you just use shrink wrap that is big enough to fit over the forks and it will still shrink down small enough? Arrow will position in the same spot every time? Trimming required?
Any other suggestions on something else that works and doesn’t require frequent reapplying or depend on glue to put on are welcome. TIA!

I’m a huge fan of the g5 expert pro tests but they are getting hard to find. Does anyone make a similar rest? I know the qad is a great rest and I had them but I hate the fact that it hit the shelf of the bow.

Just received my new Bow for a new build. I have a new QAD branded coming. But I really am intrigued by the Magne Drop Claw rest. Any thoughts and or experiences would be appreciated.

From information gathered from a different thread I posted my decision has been to drop my bow from 70lb to 60lb. The last time shooting I gelt I was doing fine and quit when my arm shoulder got sore. That was now 4 days ago and I can barely full draw the bow.IDIOT!
So my question is – Will I need to redo my sight yardages? I have an HHA Optimizer lite.
It will be some time until Im able to shoot again, this shoulder is darn sore,so I am unable to answer this question myself.

My ripcord code red broke, was my own fault, don’t really want to go back to a whisker biscuit right now and don’t have $ 100 spare at the moment for a better rest, I have a Truglo carbon lying around I got for free, my only concern is bounceback and basic usage, is this rest fine for that? anyone have any experience with it? just need a rest I can use for a few months before I save up money that won’t bounce back up and cause my groups to widen out. Says on the product description " It has the best of both worlds as a full-containment drop-away arrow rest with sealed bushings that put pressure downwards at the time of launch. You can expect no dangerous bounce back from this arrow rest, and it is easily converted to work with a left-handed bow."

I just switched my from a QAD LD ultra rest on my Mathews monster 7 to a QAD HDX because i had it. After putting it on and doing some adjustments i tried paper tuning it. i couldn’t get two arrows that told me the same thing, one may tail an inch to the left and the nest would go 4 inch the other way. i shot probably 30 arrows while adjusting some things and couldn’t get a better result. i went as far as taking a slo-mo of it to see if my veins were hitting the rest or if it wasn’t dropping fast enough but neither seemed to be the problem… the only thing i saw that may be the issue is the string to the release is a bit thinner than the one i had on it before and there may be enough slack in the string to come up and catch the veins.
Is there something i can do fix this? or something else that may be causing the problem?
