Girlfriend got it done

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Very proud morning for me she has been hunting for years but hasn’t bow hunted for years. We got her a carbon rose before the season. Practicing every day. so we planned a few days off being my birthday is November 4th and hers is the 5th. I was already tagged out so she was up to bat. I thought it was gonna happen on the morning of the 4th the 8 point decided to follow the does. The next morning we were right back in the same tree. Right at daylight this guy came cruising through. Made a perfect shot at 18 yards. It was her first deer ever it was a buck on her birthday with her boyfriend. Very cool experience I think I was more excited than her haha

My son got it done again!!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

It’s been a while since I posted anything but I wanted to congratulate my son(aka killer Chris) on another successful hunt. He has been strictly bowhunting for 3 years now, his first year he was 11 and didn’t shoot a single thing. But he stuck with it and got his first kill at the end of last season at the age of 12.
After proving to me his determination I upgraded him from a browning micro adrenaline to a Mathews heli-m. He practiced with me all summer and is pretty consistent out to 40 yards.
Fast forward to October 4th, it was the second day of opening weekend here in Texas and we were able to get it done Sunday morning. This is his second deer with a bow and first with the Mathews, he held it together like a champ and got it done.
The shot was 22 yards quarting away, he center punched the liver and caught the off side lung on the way out, the vap arrow with the rage hypo had the deer down in 50 yards! His confidence is sky high and now the hunt for one of our big deer is in full swing! Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone!

Elite has done a good job and even better

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I personally after all the models of elite bows that I’ve shot and worked with that the energy series is the best yet. I have a E35 and shot the E32 and I’m very impressed. You have to be an elite fan to like elite. If yur a Mathews guy or Hoyt guy ext. don’t think that if you shoot the energy it will blow your mind away. It’s not better then any top of the line rig out there but compAired to other elites in the past it blows them away with the stability and dead in hand after shot. What do you other elite guys think?

Thought I was done!

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

2 weeks ago Monday I thought I just had a touch of a cold. Not too bad Monday but woke up Tuesday with a 102 temp. I laid in bed from Tuesday til Friday afternoon with temps anywhere from 101-104. I went to the ER and had double pneumonia. They admitted me Friday and released me Sunday with meds. Well Sunday afternoon was good and Monday morning but Monday-Tuesday I could not breath. I went back to the ER and the Pneumonia had gotten worse. The put me on some different antibiotics that lowered my white blood cell count to 1900. They put me in ICU and then transferred me to a bigger hospital. I was taking 24-30 breaths per minute to be able to breath. At one point the Respiratory doctor came in and told me that they could put me on life support as my oxygen level was in the 70 and I told my wife not to let them do that.

My wife thought I had given up. They went into my lungs and took a biopsy of the pneumonia on Monday morning, been in ICU for 5 days. Whatever he took out helped my lungs. I got to come home Monday afternoon. I have been doing good. I haven’t used the oxygen since Tuesday night and my oxygen level is in the mid 90’s now. Still get tired by walking to the bathroom or bedroom and just have to take a minute. Lost probably 25lbs.

I was sitting there fearing dying. I didn’t know if I was right with God. I had a lot left to do with my wife and kids and I was scared. I am thankful for the doctors who helped me at the bigger city.

Don’t take anything for granted and if you feel like crap, don’t try fighting it off. I am up to my eyes in hospital bills but at least I can live to pay them.

DIY dual bow stand ( yes I saw it’s been done before , but not like this )

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey every one ! I am new here , and well new to archery as well . I am normally a firearms kind of guy. I recently bought my first bow , a bear Encounter ( nothing special I know ) . My reason for doing so , therapy , in more ways then one . I had shoulder surgery 2 years ago and a buddy if mine said archery is a great way to work out your shoulder , and the other is my own escape . I use to go to the shooting range once a week . But let’s face it, with the price of ammo and as hard as it is to find , this just seemed to be a logical option . Oh and I can shoot in my back yard , inside city limits , um OK !!!

Anyway I sat down the other day to get some ideas about bow stands and well I saw a few I liked , but nothing that held a bow or two and arrows . So I thought to my self while standing in Home Depot ( which anyone knows is dangerous ) " hey I am smart , I can just design one in my head real fast and build one "

So about $ 40 later and about 20 mins to build . This is what I came up with . I know it’s not the prettiest girl at the ball , but hey she gets the job done . And it’s light enough it can be stored in my shed while being super sturdy so it won’t tip over with mine and my wife’s bow on it .

So please let me know what you all think ! I am open to opinion , I mean how else to we grow and learn !

Oh and if you want it’s size or parts list to build one just ask and I will get a list together

My first knives finally done.

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So about a year ago I started making my own knives for the archery hunter (or any hunter). After a lot of finished knives going into a drawer and not seeing daylight because I didnt want my name associated with them. I finally finshed 2 and gave them to my hunting partners.

Both are 154cm light weight drop point knives. 1 is orange g10 and the other is orange kirinite.

I didn’t make the nylon sheaths but what I did was remove the stock plastic liner and add a custom fit to each knife piece of kydex so the knives snap into place and wont move, the buckle is just added security.

Wy. antelope draw done

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My sons and I finally got our applications in for the 2013 antelope hunt. Picked area 32 with our one point and 2nd. choice 31. Didn’t put in for a third choice because we couldn’t add a doe/fawn tag. Being our first (and maybe only) hunt we hope for a buck, but would be happy with a doe. Would like to thank all those here on AT who help with info. to get me started on this hunt. Question about private land permission. When do you guys start contacting land owner. The draw results aren’t till June. Would hate to ask permission from land owners and not draw that area. Mel
