Spotting scope choice #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So I’m needing your opinions on which spotting scope is best suited for mainly Colorado elk hunting. I’m looking at the Vortex diamond back 20x60x80 and the razor hd 11-33×50. My question is would you sacrifice power for quality or is the diamond back sufficient at say a couple miles.

Arrow choice for indoor target #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

I ordered 6 Easton Fatboy carbon arrows and 6 Easton 2314 aluminum arrows for indoor target shooting. I want to try out both arrows to see which I like better. That said, what is the preferred arrow material for indoor target shooting? What is the preferred fletching material: vanes or feathers? Should I have them fletched straight, offset, or helical? What are the pros and cons of each option? Thanks in advance for your input!

Archers choice Range Rover pro

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Anybody out there that has the Range Rover pro have a chance to use this sight in a hunting situation. I am wondering how this sight is in the cold and or rain? Any issues with the lens fogging up or difficulty seeing the pin in those situations. I have on and really like the sight, but haven’t used it in any type of inclement weather or really cold mornings. Just curious, thanks

Good choice?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

So over the last few months I have been stopping at any shop I know of around the areas I work. Ive had an old hoyt rebel since I was 13. Never really bow hunted but now since we are moving out to some acreage I am committed to trying bow hunting. In the search for a new mid priced bow I’ve shot many. Hoyt charger and powermax, bear threat and trax, mission hype and ballistic, diamond carbon cure, bowtech carbon icon and some other bowtech. Everything is a huge step up from my old bow. For me the clear winner is the Carbon Icon. Love everything about it! I have one on layaway at a local shop and should be able to pick it up in about 2 weeks. I’m super excited to have a good bow to start practicing. But I keep reading about these bowtech blow ups and it has me concerned. But I’ve never read of a case with the icon blowing up. I don’t want to always have this voice in the back of my head worrying about it. Also why isn’t there more threads out there on the Icon? Just want to make sure I’m spending my money wisely as I’ve never spent this much money on myself before.

Thanks

New stand: XOP Silver Medium — did I make the right choice? Also, stick suggestions?

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies on Amazon.com

Hey guys. A few days ago, I was fortunate enough to FINALLY receive permission to hunt a small parcel of swamp that backs up to a 500ac tract that prohibits hunting — and, coincidentally, harbors decent bucks that never receive hunting pressure or leave its confines. I own a couple Guide Gear "Extreme Comfort Hang On" stands from Sportsman Whse, which I’ve found to be probably the most comfortable tree stand I’ve ever roosted in…. However, those suckers are HEAVY and are a huge pain to hang — accordingly, I keep them up all year.

So, I suddenly found myself in the market for an ultra-lightweight hang on that I can easily and quickly hang myself, and that I can trust to last me safely for several many years. A quality, fairly mobile stand is something I think every hunter needs at least one of, so I’m due for an upgrade.

My budget: $ 170 max. I definitely want an aluminum stand, and I definitely want something that hangs easily and is somewhat comfortable.

As I had a bunch of AMEX Amazon points, I pulled the trigger yesterday on the XOP Silver Series Medium hang on, which I picked up for $ 160. I’m really hoping it’s easy to hang and light enough for me. Should be here tomorrow, but is easily returnable if I don’t like it…

Do you guys think I made a good decision? Are there any other stands within my pricepoint that I should have considered? I looked at the LW AlphaTech F1 (same price), but I thought the XOP’s cast platform (which does away with any creaking welds that I’ve grown to hate) and cast i-beam seemed a better bet. I also liked the Millenium M7 MicroLite (and its mounting bracket) alot, but Amazon was sold out unfortunately. Hawk Helium looked pretty good, too, as did the Hawk XPLOR — but were a little more $ . Not sure if there were any other options for an aluminum hanger w/in my budget?

Finally, any thoughts on a decent stick/ladder set up that’s a great bang for the buck right now?

Thanks!
