Anyone have experience with the Truglo Carbon XS drop away? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

My ripcord code red broke, was my own fault, don’t really want to go back to a whisker biscuit right now and don’t have $ 100 spare at the moment for a better rest, I have a Truglo carbon lying around I got for free, my only concern is bounceback and basic usage, is this rest fine for that? anyone have any experience with it? just need a rest I can use for a few months before I save up money that won’t bounce back up and cause my groups to widen out. Says on the product description " It has the best of both worlds as a full-containment drop-away arrow rest with sealed bushings that put pressure downwards at the time of launch. You can expect no dangerous bounce back from this arrow rest, and it is easily converted to work with a left-handed bow."

problem after switching drop away rests #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I just switched my from a QAD LD ultra rest on my Mathews monster 7 to a QAD HDX because i had it. After putting it on and doing some adjustments i tried paper tuning it. i couldn’t get two arrows that told me the same thing, one may tail an inch to the left and the nest would go 4 inch the other way. i shot probably 30 arrows while adjusting some things and couldn’t get a better result. i went as far as taking a slo-mo of it to see if my veins were hitting the rest or if it wasn’t dropping fast enough but neither seemed to be the problem… the only thing i saw that may be the issue is the string to the release is a bit thinner than the one i had on it before and there may be enough slack in the string to come up and catch the veins.

Is there something i can do fix this? or something else that may be causing the problem?

Drop Away Rest Height #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hi everyone, I have a Vapor Trail Limb Driver Micro Elite rest and had it installed at a local archery shop. However, I have some questions regarding the installation and tuning. (I’m also new to compound so if these concerns are non-concerns please let me know).

I think the rest seems to be set low. When the string is at rest state, the blade of the rest is contacting the metal of the riser itself at an angle.
Is this normal? I’m just worried that the blade will slam against the riser after every shot and I’m it may damage the rest over time. You can see that the blade is marking up the black riser in the pictures where it makes contact. Additionally, the tongue used to have black tape/plastic stuff on it, but they were knocked loose.

I asked if they could raise the rest up higher, but they said it wasn’t possible as then the bow wouldn’t tune.
How would raising the rest cause the bow not to tune? Couldn’t we move the D-loop up with the rest to keep things level?

Thanks in advance everyone.

NEED a Rest…Full enclosure-micro adjustable-drop away

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I am considering a new rest. Love my Limbdriver Pro V full enclosure rests, but the lack of micro adjustment is a pain. I see the fairly new Micro Elite gets good reviews, but I can’t go without enclosure anymore. Full enclosure, micro adjustable, drop away, and Limb driven to would be great! IF that isn’t asking to much!

Figure there has to be some out there!

Fall Away Rest

I am considering switching from WB to Fall Away Rest. I have narrowed my choice down to the QAD hdx or the Limbdriver Micro Elite. I use my bow for hunting and 3d.
Comments appreciated.

Long time away

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So it has been a while since I have posted. I was at an awesome military training school learning a lot of really cool things. I was able to shoot over 2000 rounds with an M4 and M9. Shooting full auto was quite a treat and really shows how awesome an AR can be.

I just checked into a new command and will be deploying to Bahrain for 6 months starting July 1st which basically means I lost a hunting season. My crossbow budget is effectively 0 dollars now.

I did purchase a Thunderbeast 30p-1 suppressor and have a custom 300 blackout and 223 being built as we speak. I knew that training would cost me big time.

I am still reading and I see the same old stuff is happening. Pin buying and selling, geekster rocking out arrow testing and Moon doing his shorty thing. Oh let’s not forget Wyvern rocking out bows with his giveaway and Swamp doing some crazy stuff way up North.

I will be reading and will try to post but I am a not depressed, but knowing I can’t buy or test crossbow stuff the next 6 months is keeping off the forum. I look forward to reading great reviews and seeing some awesome trophies this year.

Who would like the rack of guns we had at the training. 62 M4s on the rack fully auto capable, wonder how that is worth.

Just to let everyone know I now have some awesome green camo now instead of that awful blue crap.

Tuning with a drop away…..

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

So, I’m kinda confused about tuning with a drop away. I’ll be shooting a conquest 4, with a trophy taker pronghorn for indoors. First question, how can I tell when the rest is correctly timed? Also, where to start with the nock point?
