Question on Reconyx XR 6 #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hey Gents,

One of you guys who use Reconyx may have had same thing happen to you? I have 3 Reconyx Cameras (500/600/XR6) Anyway they have worked perfect since Spring of 2014.

Anyway…I had the XR6 at the best spot to get video etc… Well I open door and camera is off? Then I power it on and it says Replace Batteries so I bring bit home.

When I get home I discover that it took 250 of the same picture of nothing at my salt lick???

I plan to call Reconyx tomorrow. The book was no help? Could this be on line with low batteries???

Thx
Todd

New Bow! #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Today I went into my local archery shop to get some new arrows cut and couldn’t help but look at the Hoyts hanging on the shelf. I paid for my arrows and asked the guy if he was giving away any Hoyts. He looked at me and said actually I am and handed me a 2016 defiant 34. He told me it was the demo bow Hoyt send him and he needed to get rid of it. The price was $ 500. I thought this was a good deal considering it was $ 1100 new. It was the exact bow I was saving for. The only problem with it was it only had 65 pound limbs. After some discussion and sales talk, he convinced me to buy it. I am still relatively new to archery, but I have always shot 70 pound bows. I only hunt deer but for some reason I feel like 65 pounds just isn’t the best or even enough. Did I make a mistake in buying this bow? It was a smoking deal and I felt like I couldn’t pass it up. Like I said before, I am new to archery and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to increase my poundage? Twist up the cables? Get new limbs? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Justin

B.H. Tuning… going nuts… #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Driving myself crazy trying to get bh’ s to hit with fp’ s.
Bowtech carbon knight 28" 65lbs, beman 340’s at 28" Fletched with 3" fusion few degree right helical. Slick trick 100gr and Magnus black hornet 100gr. BH’ s are hitting 3-4" right at 20yds. End up having to bump the rest over to the left a decent amount to have broad heads hit dead on, then FP’ s are hitting a foot left. My sight is almost maxed out left…. could the helical be messing with me?

Building a dominator 3-D MD #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

I have a 2015 dominator pro model I’m looking to make into an MD model. I could use a hand finding string and cable lengths as well as the correct limb numbers for it to max at 60lbs. I’m a 29 draw as well but would like it to go to 30" if possible. Thank you for any help you can give!!!!

Thoughts of my arrow build #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

Hello,

After reseaching the archives for a few days now I’m putting together a hunting arrow for new bow. Im pretty new to building arrows. Until now I have just been buying goldtip velocities and adding a broadhead. The bows is an obsession defcon m6 28dl and I’m guessing 62lbs dw (maxed 60lbs limbs).

The arrow I’m looking at is a BE spartan with a 75gr insert and 100gr broadhead. The stats for this arrow cut at 28in would be weight 462gr, fps 277, ke 78.733, and foc of 16%. Does this sound like a good general hunting arrow for elk, deer, antelope, and maybe a black bear if it crossed my path?

I really appreciate any help, comments, and recomendations. Thanks in advance

Target bow accessory recommendations for a newbie? #archery

Discount Prices on Archery Supplies Right Here

hi all!

I’m going to be taking the target archery journey with my 9 year old daughter as of this weekend… 🙂

I’m pretty sure I’m getting her a bow package such as the Diamond Infinite Edge PRO. For myself, I plan on getting a used recent-model target bow…which is usually sold bare. I’m going to test a few bow makes/models out this weekend so see what my exact draw length is going to end up being (I’m 6’4", 75" wingspan) and then will move pretty quickly into a used bow so that we can shoot during my kid’s Summer vacation, at least a few times per week. Once my bow choice is made, I’ll need to get all the accessories to make the bow complete: release, rest, sight, and stabilizers. What’s a solid arrow that also doesn’t break the bank? I know that these items can be a deep (and expensive) rabbit hole but I also recognize that as my bow tastes may change these accessories may also be traveling with me from bow to bow…so I want to buy good reasonably-priced items without breaking the bank and doubling the cost of the bow. I’m currently planning on looking at acquiring one of the following bows: PSE Evolve 35, Hoyt Podium X 40 or Vantage, Fanatic, or maybe a Halon X…something with a 35+" ATA, for sure.

What are your favorite picks for these items for target/3D shooting? Assume I don’t have an AmEx Black card lol 😉
